14 years later and I still come back to this video. Absolutely fantastic. Wish there was more like it but I know that's impossible given how genuine and pure it is.

He should do this on Current Mood. It's Awesome.

Not just tremendously gifted and skilled but has a great sense of humor and the ability to laugh at himself. True for two of my favorite artists, John Mayer and Jimi Hendrix. Fantastic!

I postulate that Walt Grace tells the story of John's journey to success through an alter ego who's mission is to build a one man submarine and venture across the pacific alone. I won't go into too many details, but I would try giving the song a listen again, with this theory in mind.

John also took the hook from The Jonas Brothers song Love Bug. Walt Grace is a much better song though.

This album is going to be great because you can tell you're having fun with the whole process.

I love these scattered bits of moments (videos). I don't know but every time I watch one of these (his) videos. I feel inspired! inspired enough to pickup my guitar, inspired to write another the verse of a song which I almost discarded and forgot about two weeks ago but I wanna work on it again and make it right this time! :)

Lol, I know he's kind of kidding, but I actually kind of took inspiration from it. I mean, strip the lyrics from what he's singing, and you've actually just created a damn fine melody. That's an interesting technique. Thanks Mayer!

incrediblely amazing...

I agree, the album had very strong lyrics throughout it. Walt Grace is a beautiful story and reminds me of the type of story telling that the Beatles were able to accomplish in a large majority of their songs. If I Ever Get Around To Living had such clean and moving guitar passages and while the album had a "country vibe" it had far greater influences than that. If you take the time to listen and pick apart the instrumentation, you will find that it is a fantastic album with concrete production.

For anyone wondering the guitar is a Valley Arts Brent Mason signature.

That's something nobody can ever take away from you. Or any songwriter for that matter. These are the best times. BY FAR. At least for me.

you are quite possibly the most talented musician I've ever heard of.

His pop stuff was in his early albums, room for squares and heavier things, and about half of Continuum, which had some good/great music but his goal back then was, as he said in a few interviews, to be "listenable", to make a name for himself. His blues trio, and the music that lead up to it in prior albums, songs like belief and gravity, are where he started to play what he was raised on as well as playing the music that's more closely tied to him as a person and an artist. He's doing him now.

John Mayer excels in every genre of music he plays, he definitely gives 100% of himself to his craft. I think he would make a great politician because once he sets a goal he does not stop until he achieves it. He is a very smart and educated individual and sometimes he just _______ with people because people ______ with him. Peace !!! Play On Jimi !!!
