We are proposing a tutorial to describe a complete process when studying catalytic materials, comprehending chemical synthesis and its evaluation follow by a complete catalyst (fresh and spent) characterization by conventional techniques within framework of material science. In this tutorial participant will understand fundamental aspects such as catalytic mechanism of transition metal sulfides as used extensively for crude-oil refinement and other recent applications in photo-catalysis.
