I run the synergy with my desired module and instead of adding in my amplifier I add in my Carvin VLD1 tube preamp as I would an amp but go from the xlr out (with the cab sim on) to my irig interface to my iPhone with the ampkit app where I use delays and modulation effects and an amp sim (not cab) for final eq and out of the headphone jack to FOH. Sounds great and I have 4 channels.

Looks like a good way to extend out a model of clean, crunch rhythm, and lead on one amp, two channels live..In days of yor we would have had two amps with an ab swich, or three amps...Of course u had to carry that gear..Lol. The swappable mods pretty cool..YOU bums got so many options..Lol..Nice Presentation Sir Gear Head!!

Just a loaner for some recording

Anyone here using this module into an amplifier with its own pre-amp, along with a multi-effects unit such as a HX Stomp, Headrush, etc.? If yes, please share how you wired it up.

So you don’t need the syn 1 for the head

So it works as an amp head?.

Yeah but using it as a traditional amp you'd still want a power amp section

They have a 30 watt head that has a dedicated clean channel and one preamp slot. They also have a 50 watt head that holds two preamps but no clean channel.

Just looked up how much these cost. The SYN-1 will set you back around £500 and the Pre-Amp around £350 that £850 ish you could buy a whole new tube amp for that. and just use an ABY box for more sounds. In this modern age of good modelling and cheaper tube amps they are not good value for money.

Alexander Taylor they are made in USA and made by the same company that makes Friedman, Morgan and other boutique amps. I think it’s priced accordingly.

Yeah.. cheap inefficient tube amps that are chock full of solid state components. No thanks.

So no effects in the loop when you are running through your main amp? Sucks if so. Pass... All of my tubes are in the closet and or collecting dust in a room. I have moved on to digital. You can’t tell the difference these days.

You can still use it. Instead of plugging cable directly to fx return you plug it to your effects and output of your last effect to return.
