However, Dr Perry's approach is so simple, easy to comprehend, and his techniques are highly effective. I've watched a ton of MLD videos on KZread and ALL are different. I kept telling doctors I felt like I am constantly in fight or flight. I've finally found myofascial release which helps a lot! but now I found supporting my lymphatic system! I started doing those big 6 exercises 2 weeks ago. I workout daily alternating between weights and cardio/stretching for years now but i do notice issues with my hips and around the knees. i do work on the computer so i started doing this in the middle of the day. HUGE improvement in how my body felt overall. You realize just how much sitting for longer periods of time affects your blood flow. It literally gives me instant relief to any stiffness/soreness in my leg or knee area doing these.Functional medicine needs to have far more support in general. Videos like these are very helpful. Fixing the root cause or at least understanding it to avoid the problems of all medical issues like this should be a the goal imo.

Oh my goodness!! I have long covid. Was in the hospital for 3 weeks. 4 months later. I swelled up then my cardiologist did ablations on my legs. My legs ballooned as did the rest of my body. It was hell. Plus 3 meds that were harming me severally i just stopped when I could barely function. This will save me thank you. For 2yrs now i kept telling my 3 different docs - they just said put your legs up & use compression hose. Didn’t help much - i finally said dont you think it’s lymphedema like twice & finally they said yes. They couldn’t refer me to anyone & with the covid brain or brain fog I can’t be the one trying to diagnose me. But i did. This helps so much - super clear explanation! Simple w/ out too much tiny details!!! Big big thx ☺️

@@francinedorsey8441For sure your abdomen can swell up because of Lymph Fluid Blockages. It would be wise to have an Ultrasound Scan of your Abdomen, And your LIVER (to 'rule out' possible Fatty Liver [inc NAFLD], and/or Gall Stones). Another possible cause of Abdominal Swelling could be due to the Ileo Caecal Valve [ICV] not opening or closing properly. This is typically due to 'relative' inactivity of the VAGUS NERVE [which controls the ICV], due to prolonged Stress. The reason being that extreme/prolonged Stress switches off / reduces calming VAGUS NERVE activity, and so resulting in unopposed Fight or Flight status, with the Tension & Blockages that can create! So doing Perry's Routines should help! A decent 'Applied' Kinesiologist should be able to Correct any ICV issues, and show you simple self help Stress Release/Vagal Stimulation techniques, that should have positive 'Down Stream' effects. Indeed I'd be surprised if Dr Perry Nickelston isn't also very familiar with real Applied Kinesiology! Best wishes!

I’ve had lymphedema praecox (meaning from birth) mostly in my lower left leg that manifested itself when I was 14. So it is what’s known as “primary” lymphedema vs “secondary lymphedema” which can generally be the result of trauma such as cancer treatment where lymph nodes needed to be removed. Have done various forms of lymph drainage for years with various results. I’m now 64. I have always been very conscious of managing my lymphedema and have never let it stop me doing what I want. But since menopause have had increased issues with sleep, fatigue/ malaise and general weakness. I do take diuretics and wear compression wraps always. I am going to commit to this technique daily for 30 days and look forward to reporting positive results.

Hi Lynn. It depends on what’s causing it ultimately. The adrenal glands are intimately connected to the gut, immune system, circadian health, and stress and trauma. If at all possible you may like to consider working with a nutritional therapist of functional medicine practitioner to investigate the cause. We have a database of practitioners on our website - www.healthpath.com. I hope you find some answers!

Hi there. I’m sorry to hear that. I’d suggest going even more gently and slowly with opening your lymph perhaps? You may also like to consider working with a practitioner to ensure there aren’t any other reasons why you’re reacting the way you are. 🙏

Hi Joanne. We can’t provide medical advice over this platform I’m afraid. I’d recommend working with an experienced nutritional therapist/functional medicine practitioner who will be able to support you with this. I hope you understand! There is a strong gut-liver connection so you may want to consider exploring this too. We have a video o LCN our KZread channel about the gut-liver axis.

I am wondering if "sticking diaphragm" could be included in the list of things affected by stagnant lymph flow? If so, is there any particular technique that would help "unstick" the diaphragm? I mean, I'm thinking that simply "singing" isn't enough. I don't know any more than I've said here. Hoping Dr. Perry might have run into this at some point in his career.

Yes! It causes a lot of issues and I sincerely pray for you as you are not alone but are in a majority of the population actually :( I'm a nurse and saw it all the time but also as a sibling of some one with bulimia. Oh how I tried to get her help, get my parents to hear me try and it was just not effective :( It's a dangerous, destructive (and expensive) and I do hope you get help. It's a form of addiction. Have you been to anything helpful like trauma therapy, support groups, etc? Binging itself is problematic (heart, GI), and the purging as well, a lot on the heart, lungs, stomach. The edema and swelling in the abdomen (and facial swelling often times) is from the acids and inflammation. I'd seek help first for that, than the lymphatics. Because the eating disorder itself is an anxiety/control thing, the stress alone is taxing on the body :( I wish you well, truly.

Yes there is evidence behind diet and fatty liver - but it’s nothing complex. Including more antioxidants, fibre, foods to support a healthy microbiome (fermented foods and polyphenols from fruit and veg) may all be helpful. Having healthy blood sugar levels is also important.
