ലോകത്ത് ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ സ്ത്രീകളെ ബാധിക്കുന്ന കാൻസർ ബ്രസ്റ്റ് കാൻസർ അഥവാ സ്തനാർബുദമാണ്. ഇന്ത്യയിൽ 45 നും 50 നും ഇടയിൽ പ്രായമുള്ള സ്ത്രീകളിലാണ് സ്തനാർബുദം ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ കണ്ടു വരുന്നത്. ദേശീയ ശരാശരി പ്രകാരം രാജ്യത്ത് 1 ലക്ഷം സ്ത്രീകളിൽ 29.5 ശതമാനം പേരിൽ സ്തനാർബുദം കണ്ടു വരുന്നുണ്ട്.
സ്തനങ്ങളിൽ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന മുഴകളെല്ലാം അർബുദമാകണമെന്നില്ല. പക്ഷേ ഇത്തരം മുഴകൾ സ്തനാർബുദത്തിന്റെ ലക്ഷണമായതിനാൽ ഒരിക്കലും അവഗണിക്കരുത്. സ്തനാർബുദമുണ്ടോ എന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതിന് രണ്ട് മാർഗങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിക്കാം. ഒന്ന് സ്വയം നടത്തുന്ന സ്തന പരിശോധനയും രണ്ടാമത്തേത് വൈദ്യപരിശോധനയുമാണ്. സ്തനങ്ങൾ സ്വയം പരിശോധിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ സ്തനങ്ങളിൽ തടിപ്പുകളോ മുഴകളോ ഉണ്ടോയെന്ന് കണ്ടെത്താനാകും. പക്ഷേ ഒരിക്കലും സ്വയം പരിശോധന വൈദ്യ പരിശോധനയ്ക്ക് തുല്യമാകില്ല.
കാൻസർ ഏത് ഘട്ടത്തിലാണ് കണ്ടെത്തുന്നത് എന്നത് രോഗം ഭേദമാകാനുള്ള സാധ്യതയെയും ബാധിക്കും. ആദ്യഘട്ടത്തിൽ കണ്ടെത്തിയാൽ ചികിത്സയിലൂടെ 98 ശതമാനം മുതൽ 100 ശതമാനം വരെയും രോഗം ഭേദമാക്കാൻ കഴിയും. ഇത് രണ്ടാംഘട്ടത്തിൽ 90 ശതമാനം വരെയും മൂന്നാം ഘട്ടത്തിൽ 70 ശതമാനം വരെയും നാലാം ഘട്ടത്തിൽ 40 ശതമാനം വരെയുമാകുന്നു. അതിനാൽ ആദ്യഘട്ടത്തിൽ തന്നെ കാൻസർ കണ്ടെത്തുകയും ചികിത്സ തേടുകയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടത് ഏറെ അത്യാവശ്യമാണ്. സ്തനാർബുദത്തിന്റെ ലക്ഷണങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള അറിവില്ലായ്മയാണ് പലപ്പോഴും ഇത് തിരിച്ചറിയാൻ വൈകുന്നതിനുളള പ്രധാനകാരണം. കോവിഡ് കാലത്ത് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്താനുള്ള ഭയവും വിമുഖതയും മൂലം പലരും ഇതിനുള്ള പരിശോധനകൾ നടത്തുന്നില്ല. ഇത് പലപ്പോഴും ചികിത്സ തുടങ്ങാനുള്ള കാലതാമസത്തിനിടയാക്കുന്നു.
സ്തനാർബുദം ബാധിച്ചാൽ സ്തനങ്ങൾ നീക്കം ചെയ്യേണ്ടി വരുമോയെന്ന് പലർക്കും ആശങ്കയുണ്ടാകാം. എന്നാൽ തുടക്കത്തിലേ തന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തി ചികിത്സിച്ചാൽ സ്തനങ്ങൾ നിലനിർത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നെ രോഗം ഭേദമാക്കാൻ സാധിക്കും. സ്തനാർബുദത്തിന്റെ ലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ എന്തെല്ലാമാണ്, ഇവ എങ്ങനെ കണ്ടെത്താം, ചികിത്സ എങ്ങനെ? എന്നതിനെപ്പറ്റിയെല്ലാം പ്രേക്ഷകരോട് വിശദീകരിക്കുകയാണ് കൊച്ചി അമൃത ആശുപത്രിയിലെ ജനറൽ സർജറി, ബ്രസ്റ്റ് ഡീസിസ് ഡിവിഷൻ വിഭാഗം അസോസിയേറ്റ് പ്രൊഫസർ ഡോ. മിഷ ജെ സി ബാബു.
The most common cancer affecting women in the world is breast cancer. In India, breast cancer is most common in women between the age group of 45 to 50. According to the national average, in 1 lakh women in the country, 29.5 percent are diagnosed with breast cancer.
Not all breast cancers are cancerous. But such tumors should never be ignored as they are a symptom of breast cancer. There are two ways to identify whether you have breast cancer. One is self-breast examination and the other is a medical examination. Self-examination of the breasts can help to detect the presence of lumps or tumors in the breasts. But self-examination is never equivalent to the medical examination.
The stage at which cancer is detected also plays a major role in curing it. If detected at an early stage, treatment can cure 98% to 100% of the disease. This is up to 90 percent in the second phase, up to 70 percent in the third phase and up to 40 percent in the fourth phase. Therefore, it is very important to detect and seek treatment for cancer at an early stage. pain can be very common. If you are above 40 yrs please meet a doctor for mammogram. We usually treat severe pain interfering with daily activities.

Pain is very common snd normal 2 weeks before cycles.
