Hey there, congratulations to this wonderful achievement! It's amazing that the score looks so easy, almost boring and naive, but when listening to your composition it conveys so much depth and humane truth and wisdom. It's really astonishing with how little you're able to create so much. I see so many whole notes, nothing that catches the eye when reading the score, but it sounds really great! I especially love the mystic way of you treating tonality with a really unique approach to consonance and dissonance. Of course, the more clearly tonal passages are very Mahlerian (and are remarkably good at that!), but the ambiguity of your harmonic language for instance in the first 4-5 minutes is really very attractive to me. Boy, you really have something to say, and I'm very keen on getting to know how the symphony as awhole will develop and grow. This movement already is feeding my appetite and interest very much!

Wow, thank you so much for your comment !! Everything that you point out is pretty much what I was trying to convey, so it's really great :)! I also have to admit that I am probably one of the biggest Mahler fan ever, so I think that may explain some things haha. As for the more atonal passages, (even though I wasn't really thinking of them that way when writing) my idea was to more or less have a very "foggy" harmony by trying to have almost no real resolutions or change keys very quickly. The slow chords (in my opinion) can add to the foggyness as well. I think that the unusual nature of the chords makes them more interesting, which is why it's possible to linger on them longer. I also have to say that there are a lot of fourths, and their sound is definitly something special ! I'm sure you noticed these things I just talked about, but I wanted to also tell you my perspective :). I do have to tell you though, the second movement is completly different, but I hope you'll like it nonetheless. Anyways, thank you again for your comment :) !!

Very striking and original in many ways. Your writing is subtle and direct. Would love to hear the remaining movements when you finish it.

Very nice, can definitely hear the Mahler inspiration. The brass writing sounds very good in this midi but I'm not sure about having first and third horn double a sustained high C (in F) at 11:43. I think there would most likely be intonation issues. Depending on the player, the sheer amount of high sustained notes could be quite taxing when in just one horn as well.
