Symphony No. 4, "the Colossus", was premiered in 2011. It's inspired by an eponymous painting attributed to Goya produced around 1810 - 1812. This work, in 4 movements without interruption, is impetuous, violent, grand, of great difficulty for the orchestra and solo instruments. Widely descriptive, the symphony highlights the dark and disturbing atmosphere of Goya's painting:
"A fleeing humanity, terrified, facing this colossus walking in the smoke of the torment, its fists and its eyes closed, representing the idea of blind violence. "

Depends on the pieces, but here the original is written with cellos and basses.
