Symbolism in the Mahabharata - As Explained by Paramhansa Yogananda
The story of the Mahabharata, Paramhansa Yogananda explained, is historical, and deeply allegorical at the same time. The battleground of Kurukshetra, and the story that grew out of the war, represent the eternal conflict within man himself. This is the story through which every soul must pass, once it enters upon the outward path of life and once it chooses to follow the inward path of divine awakening. It is the unending struggle in the mind between good and evil; between man's upward- and his downward-inclining tendencies. Its end lies only in final liberation.
The dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna is in fact between every seeker and the supreme light of the divine residing within him. Krishna comforts Arjuna in his distress and stands by him through the war as does God, every step of the way in our own lives.

@@rocky821 Yup bro! I tried it. It's a very heavy book. I have read multiple versions of Bhagavad Gita but God Talks to Arjuna outclasses all. Anyway thanks for the suggestion.

Nice video. One question I have is whether we are currently in kali yuga or dwapara yuga? In autobiography of yogi, it says dwapara yuga but you have mentioned kali yuga so confused

You are really explaining things awesomely! Explained Mahabharat very well! However the way you are pronouncing the names of the characters is so western and English, that sometimes it’s hard to connect with those characters. It’s Sanjay and not Sanjaya, it’s Krushna not Krishnaa, Arjun and not Arjuna. Why that extra A at the end of the names. Why can’t those pronunciation be in that language itself please. I am nowhere great or greater, and this is just a suggestion please.

Thank you for your comments My choice of pronunciation is to try and stay true to the original sanskrit and not a western influence. The "a" matra at the end of a name such as sanjaya written is sanskrit is not the same as hindi. What you are refering to is the common pronunciation by hindi speakers in India. In bengal, the same would be sonjoy or in the south it would be sanjayan. No one is wrong. There is no right or wrong here. My choice of pronunciation is simply an effort to stay away from regional dialects of sanskrit and stick to the original matra counts of the characters.
If Kurukshetra war is historical it can't be allegorical. Can it be used as allegorical. Yes. People hear stories, other's experiences and relate to it. That does not make those stories are allegorical for that purpose alone. That does not mean Vyasa wrote it to meant allegorical. I don't think he mentions anywhere that it is allegorical to our spiritual journey. Even Bhavadgita the word of the God, can be interpreted to your experiences. Lord generalized it in such a way that everyone can apply to their life even though he was educating Arjuna to fight against evil forces. While he educated Arjuna, he educated everyone else as well. The bottom line is Good guys defeated the bad guys and Dharma prevailed. Stop spreading wrong information about Mahabharatha and telling it as allegorical to our spiritual journey (which it is NOT. It is a historical document). Can it be used as such. You bet. That is the beauty of our ancient literatures. That kind of wrong interpretation has made current generation Hindus impotent to defend against the onslaught of people who call Sanathana Dharma a Cancer. And stop comparing a sectarian religion like Christianity to Sanathana Dharma. They don't have anything in common. This is nothing but misguiding people. Where is Vedantha and Bhavadhgita and where is Bible? Bible indicates you to follow something because it is said so. We ask questions and experience it before accepting it in Sanathana Dharma. Two different doctrines.
