I have one (Belgium) and i absolutely love it. Indeed, the mirrors are too much placed inward but you get to live with it. Just pull you elbow inwards a bit. But i think they've place the mirrors that way so yo can filter easily. And, off course, those HUGE led's makes you visible from a distance (with the four hazard lights on) I don't use it on the highway for a long trip unless i see the chance to position myself behind a truck (from a safe distance off course) The acceleration is very good and i often surprise the big motor bikers when the traffic lights turns green. The buddy (under the seat) is indeed very big and the light is helpful in the dark. Wind protection from the screen is also very good and the 'heater' even works without that hideous looking leg bag. Negative points: well, besides from the mirrors, not really. I didn't liked the matt black so i've bought the shiny black version. Cleaning all those little corners can be hard sometimes. So i've bought a dust cover when it's parked in my garage since i don't use it when it's raining...hehe...oh, one minor point...no kickstarter. That would have been handy when i had a flat battery. (forgot to disconnect the battery during winter storage) but i have solved it with a trickle charger now. Plus points: Nifty in the city. Nice looking scooter and an eye catcher. Very comfortable seat position. Sufficient storage space. USB and lighter power sockets are handy for charging the phone while driving. Oh...and it's called a Joymax 125i over here instead of a GTS. Don't know why though.... Hope this was helpful. Cheers. Btw: i liked this review. Looking forward to watch the rest of them. And i subscribed....
I am the proud owner of one of these. I live in Cape Town, South Africa, and there is nothing better to tour the Western Cape on it: the winelands with it’s estates, quaint towns, mountain ranges, seaside roads, etc. Mine is the 300i GTS EVO and it cruises beautifully on the freeways at 120 km/h with plenty of speed left to overtake. As fas as I know these scooters are manufactured in Taiwan.
Reminder: SYM is a TAIWAN brand.

The full name of SYM is Sanyang Motor, before they comeout with thier own brand SYM, they use to be Honda Motor Taiwan OEM manufacture factory last time. Maybe this link below will help en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SYM_Motors
Just had to say your counter steering video has helped me so much! i am now more confident as a rider and safer in my opinion, i really appreciate the help! Keep up the good work.
Obrigado Cager, your review made me buy my first scooter. Changed my life, keep up those great reviews
Nice review Cager! I really like your unbiased reviews. When I started scooting I went right away for the SYM as it is indeed one of the best brands in the market that doesnt cost you a kidney. About the 125 the only thing I can point out is that the engine is not very linear. A bit lack of power in the low revs but it soon picks up. Other than that great bike! Even tho I have the 300 (which as I told you, you can test drive it), if I didn't had my drivers licence I would definetly get the 125. Take care and keep it up.
dude sym is taiwan brand...
Sym is sold in new zealand as well. Gts 250 and 300 and many other models. Keep up the awsome reviews!
I'm American and I *love* scooters. (Especially maxi scooters!)

Mais um bom review da tua parte. Esta tarde vou ver este modelo, mas com ABS e sistema Start Stop. Já agora vivo em Barcelona.
just got one of these ,fantastic bike .
Hope you will review more scooters in the future :) Great video as always.
!!!!!Great video man keep uploading videos like that great job
Bom teste drive.
great review :) would love to hear the makers stated fuel consumption (if possible) in future videos for the sake of engine efficiency comparison and what not. im gonna link this video to a friend that only rides his scooter to work,he might be positively surprised of this SYM.
My next bike for Sure, thanks for great video man :)
Nice review Cager, since you review Sym bikes do a review of the wolf 125 and compare it with all the other 125 you have reviewed so far.
They don't sell the GTS125 in the US. They do sell the 300 (262cc) and 200 (171cc) which have 16 inch rims and go 120kmp to 131kmp. In California the Vespa scooters are the most popular. I like Kymco because they still sell scooters with kick starters. Same goes for my old motorcycle. I love a bike with a backup kick starter.
Sold in Israel, called the SYM Joymax, comes in 125 / 250 / 300. By now SYM is the top selling brand in here.
Thank you very much for this great video.
You were really enjoying riding while reviewing cager.
Great review
I new you were registred on 125cc forum, but I was not shure, but now You've said it all! "Lotsokey" or whatever. Parabéns!!
I had the 250cc version of this bike, really comfy and good. Mirrors are bad, like you said. But cheap maintenance and 0 problems riding 17000km on it. Today I'm on the Kawasaki J300, you should really review that one.
Nice review as always, any chance to make a review on the new Honda Forza 300?
Hey Cager... It's sold in Belgium also... I did a testdrive with one (Maxsym 600i) when I was looking for a maxiscooter. It drives well. Not as good as my bmw c600 sport :)... but still good.
They are normally sold over whole of europe because of the same law about when you have a car drivers license you can ride 'motorcycles' up to 125cc and 11kw or 15hp. The reason why they are relatively expensive(also in the used market) is because of what i say above. Almost everybody has a drivers license and thus you can drive small MC's without the hassle of getting your MC license, therefore the 125's are more expensive so they can make more profit.
Ha, I'm not going anywhere Cager :) Thanks again for reviewing another 125! It is sold in Poland, however on special request. As I mentioned earlier, we will have new law in Poland, allowing cat. B owners drive 125's. It's huge "125 rush" here. Almost all 125s in dealers' stock are sold-out. :)
I love this bike
I am a safe driver. All those lights integrated everywhere make me nervous. One will bump or scratch every now and then. Scooters make sense in the U. S. On top of being practical transportation they are fun! I have a SYM. As good as Honda, or KYMCO.
Fantastic scooter
sym has some of the best looking bikes.
If you liked it that much I'm surprised you didn't get a test ride on the 300i. Supposed to be a really good bike.
This is what I’m going to be scooting around Spain on.
Taiwan wants their SYM brand back.
Hi, I like your videos and also choosing motorcycles (not only usual marks). Could you, please, test some Hyosung machine? 250 or more. I like cruisers, but it is not necessary. Thanks!
i like the heater it reminds me of the gilera runner
I just brought one yesterday from uk
Hi Cager, I just bought Suzuki burgman 400 and its amaizingly fantastic, I wish you do review on this one...God bless.
Hadn't heard of them, but they are sold in major cities far away from where I live in the great white north of Canada.
I love my Sym, I have the gts250i and its running great.
Cager, you're reviews are brilliant mate......if you had to choose would you have either an Xmax, Forza, Kawasaki J125 or Sym Joymax??? Everytime I make my mind up, I change it again. Help mate
Hello. Great review. I have a question. Is it safe for highway? Is it normal to drive it 110km for a longer trips, or it is to much work for the engine. Thanks
As far as I know we only have the SYM HD 200 Evo in Canada.
The Sym is sold in Denmark as well :). But how do you keep your gopro charged when you are out and about, and how did you plugin a microphone to your gopro?. Or are you running it without the waterproof case?
250 version of this is a nice one.
It sells in the UK as the Sym Joymax 125i - It is excellent, but SYM is considered a brand where a lot of buyers here are sceptical of it - which is a shame as it's wonderful
Hi Cager. Could you review Sym Joymax (GTS) 125 sport with ABS + Start&Stop version? It is new one for 2015. Thx.
Is it a 4 strike and love the video thinking of getting one Im in England
It is in sales in Hungary (because you asked in the video). It’s nearly invisible mainly because the Hungarian motorcycle market went through on a huge falling. From 2004 to 2012 the market fell more than by 80%! It has been starting to grow slowly in 2013, but only 1895 bikes has been sold comparing to more than 12000 in 2004. So all-in-all SYM sales seem to invisible in the low market. By the way traditionally Honda leads the sales top list in the Hungarian motorcycle market.

CagerOnTwoWheels Almost. The main reason is an economic downturn, but there are more complex issues behind this huge market recession. First of all for an average Hungarian motorcycling is a hobby rather than a mean of transport. And when you have less money you try to save on your hobby first. More and more people buy scooters, but these are usually used craps imported from other countries, so these not generate new sales. Motorcycling is also a very seasonal hobby in Hungary due to weather conditions, although the climate change “helps” to extend the season nowadays. Normally it is common to measure -15 degrees or lower during winter.

Gabor Halasz actually, as far as i know,(and experienced) the most selled bikes are second hand, low budget, 50cc scooters(not only crappy import) and the good old russian simsons(50cc). People still cant afford a bike for hobby, only as a secondary vehicle. Yeah, fzcking politicians...

Cager, actually SYM is a Taiwanese brand not Korean. Great review, though!
Any chance of reviewing the Honda S-wing?
Well the GTS125 does not apply now but the same bike is still up for sale but it is called the Joymax125C
in israel SYM scooters sell like crazy but in israel its called SYM Joymax 125i/250i/300i that and the SYM Joyride evo 125/200 i myself have a Joyride 125 and my grandpa has a Joymax 300i :)

hi cager, I m about to pass my car driving license so I ll be able to drive scooter 125cc max. Between the gts 125 and the ymaha tricity, which one do you advise? Under rain is the gts 125 really bad, not stable? coz it s raining often here. thanks for your advice!
I'm in the UK. I have a SYM GTS 250i 2008 version. It's a great bike, much better than my Gilera Nexus 259 which I had constant problems with. Also a better build quality than Kymco.
thanks indeed
Cager, don't the newer models have start-stop?
Cager, SYM are definitely Taiwanese and not Korean.. Just thought I'd let you know.
this isn't sold here in the UK cager. They only sell the joyride.
Cager qual é a melhor scooter nas 125cc-250cc que tu conduziste em todos os parametros (1º fiabilidade 2º manutenção 3º agradabilidade de condução 4 consumos etc )
I have friends who ride Kymco 300s and 500s and a few with Burgmans, so I've ridden a few MaxiScooters, but don't like the feet in front of me riding position. I guess I've been riding motorcycles for too long to get used to that. I have no problem with them or people who have them, they just aren't for me.

CagerOnTwoWheels I didn't realize that I hang onto the tank while breaking until you mentioned it, but I do in emergency situations. I agree that they are excellent for commuters = especially with the storage. It's big enough for a helmet while they're at work and for a briefcase and many other "work needs" while getting there.
Well ... the pegs are awesome now when they lock in place :D But I'd be afrait that the mechanism will go sooner than later ... They are being sold in Czech Republic...

František Šindelář ahoj zaujal ma tento skútrer,aký máš v skratke svoj názor,je to najvyšší výkonný motor v 125? alebo poznáš niečo lepšie v tejto cene??? Dakujem zá radu František😃😃😃😃😃
These are sold in the UK
im looking at one of these and im worried about the mirrors are they not adjustable?
Taiwanese brand if I'm not mistaken, nice review though. I have just put a deposit on my new xmax 125.
This is looking a somewhat offensive from the SYM to omit the USB charger or actually any charger outlet on more powerful RV 200 EVO.
Im just about to buy one 😁

What country are you in? Sounds like you're provably in Eastern Europe. I like your English accent, thanx for sharing this awesome video.
have you tested the piaggio xevo spot 125
We don't say "breaking" in, but "running"in. Rodaje in Port. I think.
Hello What do you think about mode sym 125 gts 2009? Is it good?
Sym Headquarters: Hsinchu, Taiwan
Can anyone advise me where I can go to view a sym joymax 125i or sym joymax 125 sport Please contact me if you have any details
What do you mean it isn't meant for in city riding? scooters were made to be ridin in city, so when you have a short distance travel you don't need to use the clutch, in trafic and all
In israel this bike is called joymax 125 but because the joy max cost more than the sym joyride so the joyride sell way better
It sells here in israel alot... SYM.YAMAHA and all of the superbikes sports bikes big scooters everything you want...
what is Sym GTS 125 Sport 2015 top speed ?
you have to try a bmw, it would be nice to see you driving that machines
We can buy it here in Belgium :D
New Gloves? :-)
What is top speed for you ?
Vou amanhã comprar uma por 1400€ com 29 mil kms, achas muito?
Sym it´s from Taiwan, not South Korea ;)
is it xmax ot tmax you are comparing to? i just wonder..
SYM was a Honda factory before rebranding, regional managers ended up buying it off them.
I don't think It's that Americans hate scooters, it's that they don't serve a good niche here. I know here in Colorado you need a motorcycle endorsement to ride anything above 50cc (not sure about other states). If you need a motorcycle endorsement anyways why not get a full size bike? Plus with the great American highway you often have to go 65+ MPH. For example just to get to work I need to get on 2 freeways, and do 65MPH+ among semi trailers, and other fast moving traffic. If we were allowed to ride 125-150's without an endorsement then these would probably be more popular in the US than they are now. Edit- And we do have a Sym dealer in Colorado.
cager have you ever crashed or scratched or broken a testbike? keep up the good work.
I want on go's for 50k kr in Norway
Hi Cager, nice review as ever... So i´ve got a new bike, take a look at my channel and tell me what you think about it.
I love you
