Rocky has been more than a movie character to me. More than a mentor. He was like the father I never had. I learned more from this man than most people I ever knew in real life. He’s kept me fighting through some of the hardest times of my life and after 17 years of chronic illness, he’s still a huge part of that fight every single day. Stallone is a real life super hero.

Sylvester has come a long way from very humble and bare beginnings. Anyone who could've witnessed his past life and struggles would not think he would succeed by any hint of the imagination. He kept at it despite the doubts and fears, obstacles, and detours, and rejections setbacks, and never stopped going after what he wanted. He didn't exactly get what he wanted. He got unexpectedly more than what he wanted and needed. Success will appear when you least expect it IF you never give up.

The series of advice that he has given here has inspired me to keep living, learning, and working in spite of my learning disabilities, speech impediment, and leukemia. Plus, I'm also glad that he mentioned that sometimes quitting is necessary when you are pursuing something, and you are constantly failing where it becomes a dead end. Then you pursue something else. When one path doesn't work for you, move onto another path. Mr. Stallone, thank you for your words of wisdom.

This man keeps giving us a lot of reasons not to give up, not to surrender. A talented man who believed in himself in a hostile world and succeeded, he is just a legend. And once again, I feel relieved and willing to overcome struggles after listening to what he has to say. It doesn't matter if he is talking genuinely or playing a role. What matters is his message, and that's a message of truth, and hope and strength. It's not over until is over. We didn't hear the bell, everytime we'll be cornered and on our knees, let's just remember that we can still fight for one more round. Thank you, Sylvester. You're such a legend.

LOVE LOVE LOVE what Sylvester Stallone says about quitting! Never heard anyone else present it through that lens and think it is profound. We do all know what we’re supposed to do, we do have it in us, however, I seem to have forgotten for a while and walked my journey on auto pilot. It was the motivational speeches I listened to over and over again, that ripped my blinders off, allowing me to realize that I was on auto pilot and that it was entirely my choice and through that, it became clear that it was also my choice to quit my automated, aloof, sort of directionless path and once I realized that and that there is power in having the freedom of choice, power in realizing our lives are controlled by a force called decision. So…all that said…sometimes, we all need a little nudge (or bigger in my case:)), reminding us that the answers are within us, waiting to be found:). Thank you Mr. Stallone!!! Chapeau!!

Sly did a real good artistic job and really good motivational films. But: "Rocky" is just a fictional story about the real life of the real heroes Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. They are the rolemodels of the story behind Rocky and Apollo Creed. 😉 A good story, anyway but Sly stole Ali and Frazier their script!

Yo Sly, I want to thank you from my soul for coming out here and sharing your philosophy and wisdom. Some motivational speaker out there was telling the Rocky story to get people inspired but I didn't like the flamboyant and exaggerated form, but I'm so glad you are here speaking from your soul instead of being exaggeratedly quoted by a motivational speaker who makes millions of dollars telling people who is a winner and who is a loser. I receive your wisdom and I take it into my heart to remember the words of a true Champion whose movie characters, screenplays, and personal trajectory sounds and feels like bliss. I completely agree with the idea that sometimes "Quiting" is the best way to find the right door. DESTINY

Intelligent people often have a knack for explaining things simply. They can strip away all the fat and get to the core of an issue more easily than idiots or pseudo-intellectuals because overcomplicating everything is not a sign of intelligence. It just makes life even harder than it already is.

Stalone is a very good personal friend of mine. He's been through some really tough times before he became famous. Things that he will not share with just anyone. I've been there and seen these times. The story about selling his stuff, his dog, etc etc are just the tip of the iceberg.. But throughout all of this he has remained humble. He still helps many people less fortunate than he is. Every few weeks we meet up and have a coffee and a catch up. He never let's me pay for the coffee. Heart of gold that bloke.

Love doesn't carry the weight it used to. Used so often, much like hate, that it's just a saying with no resonance. Words had meaning once but when thrown around like yesterday's confetti, saying you love someone, especially a stranger, dilutes and ultimately kills any value the word had. But hey, that's my America. Laying waste to language on the daily.
