Even though "Band Of Gold" was Disco, anything else from the same record was not. HI-NRG era more like it. But who cares what it is when you can dance to it, right?

Such a great talent, shame he left us so early.

Met Sylvester at the Garage,NYC, the best time of my life was on that dance floor, swooning to the music, oh and everyone was beautiful.

BEST OF THE BEST OF THE F*CKING BEST. I STILL bow down to this DIVA.

Love 70's and 80's music. Love drum machines and synthesized sounds. I don't care if artists are gay, straight or whatever. It's the music, the song writing and vibes are what's important to me.

I get all emotional listening to this song. Tears falling from my eyes.

I read some of the comments and some /most are in foreign languages. This music captivated a worldwide audience which is timeless. Music truly unites us all.

I'm still here... saw Syl at the I-Beam in the Haight in what would be their last performance where she told us she was dying and "to don't stop" as a community.... streaming tears currently at the memory.

One of the BEST songs from this era or any other era. Takes me right back to dance clubs in the 70s ANDS 80s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My brother had this single, but he lost it when he was moving to another place.... He would play this song when he returns from work or the gym..... He really loved this song.... I still can't believe he lost this song.............

I was living in Dayton ,OH ( of all places ) in 1989 and was @ a Chevron convenience store very early one Sunday AM. Anyway, shopping for AM snack items and lo & behold who comes on the overhead speakers- Miss Sylvester James ..He's doing an interview and recalling how he & Two Tons O'Fun - Izora Armstead & Martha Wash -started their music careers..Signing in the church on Sunday mornings..They would then drive around San Francisco in a VW Bug or VW Travel Van and sign the non-church songs they really wanted to sing .. Needless to say , I was slightly taken aback hearing details on Sylvester's background.

I actually saw him perform in Dayton. I think the place was called 1470 West, it was an old grocery or department store. There are clips of it on youtube. Saw him many times, many places.

One of the hardest jams I've heard, powerful song and uplifting. Truly Awesome artist Sylvester

I lived this Great Disco Era right at the heart of it, in New York City, at The Barefoot Boy Disco. I was in my early 20`s. Now 63. Love this music. I never missed a night after work for some years.
