Don't care what you think, nothing today can even scratch the surface of the talent, music, or dance of the 70's and 80's. God I miss it.

This is how we did it back in the 70's and early 80's. Everyone had their own style, moves and grooves. Everyone loved to dance and watch other do their thing. There was no hating or disrespect. Just great music and great dancing. I've heard many of The Sylvers songs, but surprisingly, I don't remember if we owned any of their albums.

William, you didn't have to be "Country" to watch "Hee Haw". Born and raised in the Hood but I was the youngest child of too many and Hee Haw was one of the few shows that made me sit down and laugh instead of torturing my family. Though I could tell my momma (and others in the family for that matter) liked it too, she just used me as an excuse.

The Centric Channel has aquired the rights to the vintage Soul Train program. But sadly, they continue to air the same performances of "A-list" stars, from the 70's, such as James Brown, Aretha Franklin and The Jacksons. This show regularly, welcomed a number of great (black) artists and bands, such as The Sylvers, who left a legacy of great music, and captivating performances, seen no where else! And they need to show them!

A song with *actual humans clapping* instead of a single sample of clapping triggered by a drum machine! I remember they played this at my junior high dance (1979) during a dance contest that looked a lot like this. Couples took turns dancing down the line while everyone clapped and cheered them on. The biggest difference was that we were the *whitest damn kids* anywhere in America.

@DiscoKween...do you happen to know who this couple is at the :54 mark? I remember loving to watch Soul Train, and at 14 back in 1976 or so, this was my favorite couple. She is in the black pants with the cute vest and white shirt. He is in the black pants and black zip up shirt. I never remember hearing their names or them being interviewed. Elegant couple!

I USED TO LOOK FORWARD TO THIS DANCING ON EVERY SHOW CAUSE I WOULD TRY ALL THEIR MOVES WHILE I WAS BABY SITTING FOR THREE KIDS FOR $1.00 AN HOUR FOR ALL THREE. AND I WAS 15 YEARS OLD. THOSE WERE STILL GOOD TIMES.

@dh1173 Jody has two children. Her oldest is with Leon Sylvers and the other child was with Andre Cymone. I wasn't aware that she had a child with Leon until someone posted that information on here. I had to do some research on the net to determine if it were true.

@loverution Thanks. WhatEVER she is, she was BAD! You and most of the guys who WATCHED the show most likely enjoyed watching her. They knew what they were doing when they cast her. If you wake up in the middle of the night, say around 3 or 4 am, you're likely to catch an episode of Soul Train on Bounce TV. You can't figure out what you enjoy the most: the styles and fashions or the dancing. And it was just a classy show, from the HOST (Classy Don C) to the credits. And I love the little train!
