Gotta love how low-key and humble Josh is despite being one of the best guitarists currently alive.

Any insight into how Josh works and creates is amazing. Super genuine, passionate and AN INSPIRATION! Can't wait for the rest of these! RIFFS FOR DAYS!!!
Live for nerdy "making of" videos like this.
I've been started to listen Sylosis when I was 20.Now I'm 30 years old men and I still love this band from all of my heart. Good luck Josh, and hello from Russia!
Already pre-ordered this album, it's been a long time waiting.

Death - Symbolic, great choice! Probably my favorite death metal album.
When Josh said “Room within a room” I couldn’t help but sing it in my head to the Architects song ‘Animals’ 😂 ... Room within a Room within a
The shots of Josh playing the orange Eclipse remind me of Tom in the making-of documentary from the "LF/LT"-album by Architects, looks pretty much the same to me. Kinda cool and emotional, if you ask me.

Also he got the Peavey 6505 Plus as a gift by Tom. He was such a nice person and those riffs he had! This kinda stuff always makes me sentimental. May he sleep well.
Always happy tp see people use the 6505+ So many people trashed in when it came out but I still love that thing since I bought it over a decade ago 😅
Holly cow, Josh is just a creative force by all means. Look at the art for the album. Fuck, he is so skilled. Well Done Josh, you a terrific artist and musician.
Can't wait for the new record Josh. Never thought SYLOSIS would be back but so glad I was wrong . Thus far the 2 songs you have released are excellent. Those records on the shelf display are some of my favorites Sep- Arise and Beneath and DEATH - Symbolic. You are the RIFF KING. Keep producing content man.
ESP guitars for life. 🤘🤘🤘
Gotta love the King Diamond shirt. Respect for such a kegend, and I'd expect nothing less from a metal musician as accomplished as Josh!
I can't remember the last time I was so hyped about an album! It's gonna be epic :)
beyond excited. love the studio set up
So happy we get some behind the scenes stuff, I love to nerd out on every little easter egg in this clip can't wait for part deuce
Aaaaaaa I am beyond excited about this album and the more frequent uploads on this channel!
Thank you, guys, for sharing these diaries! Pure gold!
Really looking forward to listen it and see Sylosis live again!!!
SO glad you guys are back !!! The new record is bonkers mate !!
Love these type of video's! have been waiting for this album for sooooo longggg
The fact that you guys are finally coming back...there are now words. Please come to the U.S. I’ll fly to wherever.
Awesome! He's a nice very nice guy 😊 I love these documentarys/making of's/insight videos. Keep them coming!
so stoked for this album
Super glad you're back! I Sever is just great. Really looking forward to the album. :)
cannot explain how happy this makes me
Just finished the first listen through. Absolutely blown away. Fantastic work. Can't wait to see you live if you come to Detroit
He really is one of us.
I love these kind of "behind-the-scenes" videos; thanks for sharing! I was so surprised (and impressed) to hear you mixed the album; what I've heard so far sounds great! Then when you said you were friends with Nolly, I was like, "Oh, that makes sense." haha
I respect your work, Josh! Nice rig by the way. Cheers, Greg
So cool! Thanks for sharing this with us!
Cheers from Brazil mate. You guys are one of my GOAT bands. Keep being yourselves, specially the E tunning :)
Sooo hyped for this release, and are looking forward for more of these "Making of" videos! Keep up the great work and music!

Don't crash the bus this time! Man, will never forget Alex telling me a story of crashed tour busses and after their set on the way from Toronto to Montreal you guys get in a tour bus crash...Always wondered if he remembered talking to me about that just before it happened.
I am so ready
I was revisiting this videos and I realize, at 4:55 and at 6:48 he uses a guitar that's exactly the same as his new signature model. I guess that's a good sign because he choose as a signature a model he uses a lot and trust to record.
As soon as I saw the "Arise" album cover I realised what a man of good taste Josh is!
Cannot wait, best band out there and theyll prove it again
You guys are sick. Saw you in Frisco with lamb of god. Sickest show
Preacher? Excellent choice there. If you haven't already read it, you should try Warren Ellis's Planetary.
Just subbed been a fan for years keep it up hope to meet u one day in UK
I discovered Sylosis in 2009 and have been a huge fan since. The latest album is so damn good, and I can’t wait for the next. When the hiatus was announced, I was sad. But understood the reasons. I love architects also. Everything Josh does is an inspiration and an influence on my playing. I use to think you had to play in a drop tuning to be really heavy, at least until I first heard Sylosis.
The new album it's going to be one of the best for 2020!🤘
So for now it's my favourite "Making of" after Periphery - Select Difficulty :)
Josh is just the man

Whipped and dominated by a woman? Sylosis is a great band but having to ask permission to hang your personal belongings in your own living room is leaps and bounds beyond insanity. Grow a spine, Josh.
Most underrated band in metal hands down!
cant wait to see these again live... got hopes of a download appearance!? ;)
This just increases the excitement for the gig on the 13th.
Sylosis is the best band ever! Pure genius!!! SYLOSIS FOREVER!!!!!!
I noticed the same when I changed my bridge, using the babicz Full Contact Hardware has more bottom string resonance.
yay!
2:16 I stole it off my wife's dad because he didn't really play it lol🤣 very humble and laid back guy. Very well spoken. And a extremely talented guy.
Hey Josh! Thank you for these insides and details, it is really interesting and nerdy haha :) Did you do vocals for the album also in your apartment?
Thank you so much for this content! Will we see some Shrine Studio updates in the future?
That song just when the artwork chat comes in is gonna be a banger

Finally someone agrees with me that tunomatic bridges sound (to me also feel but propably because im used to then) better than hipshots 😄. These days all the kids think tunomatic bridges suck and it has to be hipshot #DontBelieveTheHype

I just realized I've only ever played with tuneomatics... Maybe that's why people have liked my tone 😂
Oh yes!!!
Love the off the cusp quips. 🤣 Hard to beat EVH's ears (and Soldano's mojo).
Josh, we need, please, The Supreme Oppressor on Spotify. 😢
Thanks for this Josh. ESP makes a rippin' fiddle. I like mine for the most part, but some days the 'thin-U' neck profile doesn't do it for me.
The heavy E standard days were over but still kickass
Ok this is amazing. I fucking love you Josh, canny wait for part 2
Josh Middleton, I put him right up there with the greats (Hetfield, Mustaine, DIME) metal riff writing MASTERS \m/
How lucky this showed up in my autoplay list and this guitarist tells us: A) how much he prefers the tone of his guitar with TOM bridges and Floyd Rose bridges and B) how undecided or averse he is to the tone of the Evertune bridge guitar. I am coming to the same two conclusions recently myself.
ME AND MY SON ARE GOING TO OUR ONLY LOCAL RECORD STORE FRIDAY TO GET THE NEW RECORD, I HAVE EVERY SYLOSIS CD AND I THINK THIS IS GOING TO BE THEIR BREAKOUT ALBUM AND THEY DESERVE IT 100%, ITS BEEN WAY TO LONG A WAIT FOR THESE GUYS TO GET THE RECOGNITION THAT THEY DESERVE 💀
Did Bailey play on the album? I know Josh did the bass because Conor hadn't started yet. Neither of the two making of videos have Alex recording parts. Just Josh and Ali has posted video of him recording his parts.
YESSs !!
Gotta love the fact that the new album comes out one day before i become 18 :D

Cool studio, I though its a 5150 on you new album rhythm guitars, close enough. all the best \m/
Is the new album still all in E-standard? There are a few tracks that sound lower to me.
Oh ! there's a Framus Cobra on top of all those amps. Best amp EVEEER

Did u try swapping the power tubes on the Peavey? I guess you did if you fancy speakers from certain years lol :) my 6505 was so much nicer when I swapped the Rubys for a set of SED winged C 6l6
Noticed the two songs released so far on the album are tuned down one step, as opposed to Sylosis' other albums. In your part 2 video, can you touch on why you guys wanted to do this? Super excited to pick this album up.

Yeah, tree part series might no be enough.
Josh looks ripped.
What was Josh saying about the mids on 1 with 6505+?? Super hard to make out what he was saying..he did a shootout with 5150 and 6505+?
@clemensmoeller4549
4 жыл бұрын
Yes he did and the way he could make the midrange sound the same was when he used the rhythm channel of the 6505+. This channel also had so much midrange that he had the mids on 1.
Ur a fucking machine god bless
Can you imagine how much money all those amp heads are worth?! I'm sure he has bought/traded a few, others possibly endorsed. I'm sure it helps, unless you got good money or credit :).
