    Sydney trains have a guard who controls the doors and ensures the safe travel of passengers. Melbourne got rid of guards in the early 90s to save costs.

    @@BaileyChap That's very different. Sydney City has heavy rail passenger trains which always have a driver and guard, no exceptions. Then metro is a lighter rail driverless train which yes has no guard or driver but is much more futuristic and safer with platform screen doors, newer systems ect. No need for a guard on those.

    So in Melbourne they use to have a double decker train which is called the 4D build by goniana in 1991 before they enter service 1992 until they had major issue with the brakes until it was withdrawn in 2006. So thats why all of the Melbourne railways only runs signal decker right now, In Sydney we have a industrial strike due to the new Intercity train.

    Double deck trains might look cool, but they're really not necessary for suburban rail when loading and unloading is frequent. If anything, they can be a hindrance in peak hour as passengers can tend to trip over eachother trying to get in and out of only two doors in every carriage. Just slows things down. There's a reason why all new planned lines in Sydney are going to be for single deck trains for now on.

  • @tropictrains8956

    @tropictrains8956

    Жыл бұрын

    The new lines are metro trains that are driverless which aren’t replacing the double deck trains and it doesn’t always slow things down passengers have 2 decks to move around and Melbourne train doors don’t open automatically making the passengers open the doors which also slow things down

  • @gold3084

    Melbourne years ago tried double decker trains but they didn't take off. Reason is that double decker trains stay longer on platform to let people off and in Melbourne , stations tend to be closer together.

    Melbourne has rather bipolar weather therefore to keep climate control within the trains, the doors must be power operated, Melbourne trains are also better fit to the population density hence the single deck only design to deal with dwelling time at stations, And yes looking at the comments a modified Tangara was once tested here, although which has been scrapped due to failures that is it doesnt mean melbourne shouldnt consider double deckers in the future!

    Well actually in 10 days I’m going to Sydney! On a train! And my best friend since kindergarten was in my classes for three years until in the middle of 2grade she said she had to go to Sydney to live there and I said what’s ur messager code? And she said the message code to me and then at home I could barely remember it and I did the code anyway and then it said the code has declined. And I was very sad cuz she was actually going to Sydney to live there forever and I missed her but then to cheer up I watched some shorts then a few weeks or months later that’s when I found out I’m going to Sydney for six days and I was happy but sad at the same time I said there is a high chance that I could see my bestie there! Btw my besties name is zara or Zahara anyways my mum said well Sydney is very big honey and I was super stressed that I would not be able to find her. So I was like oh ok😢and 3 day later it was ten more days to go to Sydney! And then I was like omg I should tell my mum what Zara’s name and face looks like on my report card then my mum said ok I’ll look at it in the morning and I said her sir name must be on there! And my mum said it must be on there if it is I will find it on Facebook and tell them what’s there code then we tell them ur code and then ta-da! You have zara on messenger and I was literally so happy so now yeah I’m waiting until morning! ❤

    This is what I don't like about TikTok, everyone is biased towards what's trending, heck, people will be racist, Islamophobic, sexist, homophobic, ableist for the sake of "validation", validation by 13-year-old Andrew Tate fans at least. If you said Melbourne Metro is better than Sydney Trains, you'd get attacked hard, don't have a bad audience like that. i MIgHt GeT hATe bUT Edit: It is like you think you have an opinion but really an opinion has you.

    Melbourne has a shits public transport, their trains are not sufficient, always running late with their common delays and CANCELLATIONS all the time, in Melbourne trains runs once per hour with is horrible. That's why in Melbourne 98% of people are using their own transport ( cars ) to go to work and moving around. Sydney is the head city and number one great city in Australia , and it has the best, the biggest, and reliable public transport in Australia. People in Sydney are enjoying their lives but in Melbourne people are very rude out here in Melbourne i don't know why in Melbourne people are not friendly just rude all the time. Melbourne trains are very dirty like the derty yara river 😀😁😀😁😀😁😀😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😀😀😀😀😀😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛. Sydney trains always very clean and nice ready for people to use from all over the world who come to explore Australia goes to Sydney Australia's beautiful and one of world's heavyweight cities. Australian we're very proud to have amazing beautiful city of Sydney.
