Having coached high school track and field for 45 years and hearing her say we need more "shine" on this great sport made me smile. She is the new face for T&F. Love watching her race and love listening to her after races.

I realize the difference between this and most of her other interviews. When she is on NBC, she had just finished the 400 m hurdles about 20 seconds prior and they stick a microphone in her face. She can barely breathe! Now I can see she has a very good personality with the camera because she’s not gasping for air.

Also think she's received some PR feedback to be not so closed off to the media/public and embrace it a bit more which is the right thing to do.

For someone with a world record, only a year of college, she’s thoughtful, articulate, and completely transparent. Rare qualities, especially in combination. New Balance is either very wise or extremely fortunate. Syd needs to pick up more endorsement deals.

She is uncomfortable with coach sharing it's clear she doesn't embrace this it's unfortunate, that talented women like her are conservative strength to Athing thinking they will be together it's better they train separately not even see each other.

The 60m will help with her acceleration. I don't know if she plans on doing any open events, but running the 60m is USUALLY a sign that an athlete plans on running open events. So, we POSSIBLY could see her run more open 400m and possibly even 200m.

I remember randomly tuning in to some olympics and (probably rio) and seeing her lose and her talking about being sick at the moment but still wanting to compete. I know she was young and I was thinking "she's got a lot of time to improve". For some reason that stuck with me. I hope that was her..otherwise I'll be looking dumb making this comment about a memory over 8 yrs ago...I think they also showed her parents sitting in the crowd...oh boy it would be dumb if I remembered a random moment in my time wrong.

that adds up, she was 15-16 during Rio, finished 3rd at Nationals and then got eliminated in the semi-finals at the Olympics. So she could either been talking about getting 3rd or the semi-finals. Might also have been a meet from earlier in the year, it all kind of blurs together after a while.
