SYDNEY MARDI GRAS 2024 | HOW TO GET ON A FLOAT | PARTIES & PARADE | BEHIND THE SCENES | PRIDE

Mardi Gras 2024 had 120,000 people crowding the streets with 12,000 parade marchers aboard 200 floats. Mardi Gras is definitely one of the biggest events on the Sydney calendar and if there’s any time to visit this beautiful city, its during Mardi Gras season which runs from February to March.
Mardi Gras celebrates our LGBTQIA+ community by coming together with allies and everyone to welcome and promote acceptance, inclusiveness and unity as one human race. Mardi Gras has been running since 1978 and people from all over the country and the world come to Sydney to show their support, be entertained, make new friends, be open to learn about each other and have a great and colourful time.
Join me as I take your through a walk with all the marchers as I was lucky enough to board the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) float and see what happens behind the scenes before we get to the famous Oxford Street walk.
We talk to some ABC parade members, stars from the screen including Australia’s favourite morning show weatherman, Nate from ABC Breakfast, we got up close and personal with a number of different floats and made plenty of new friends in the community. There was so much fun to have and the parade continues to get more and more colourful each year.
Don't miss Sydney's biggest and most colourful event.
