Syaoran/Xiaolang was the only one who didn't like Sakura since he viewed her as an inferior and inexperienced Cardcaptor. Their rivalry was mostly pushed by their mutual crush on Yukito and by Meiling and Kero.

@@peachcherryblossom_8264 In the manga I think he saw her as a nuisance and envied her cuz she was the one chosen to capture the cards practically out of nowhere... While he had been training his entire life and cuz he is related by blood to Clow. Then he ended up falling for her naturally. Still, I think that deep down he still has a desire to own the cards, simply because (spoiler alert) during a confrontation against Yuna D. kaito, Kaito makes a weird statement, something between the lines "Are you sure you did all of that just for her sake?" When referring to the fact that he was currently possessing the clow cards. Still, I don't really think that's a really bad thing for him to desire the cards even if they're Sakura's and I hope they end up making some kind of contract where Syaoran and Sakura can both be the owners of the Sakura cards, although I think that's practically impossible, it would be an amazing way to award everything Syaoran has been through lately :')

Trust me, Card Captor hurts your brain the least. Try CLAMP’s other mangas, particularly Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, and your brain will know what is alright and what isn’t.

Amen to that!!!! I liked the CCS version more, because it showed the gradual transition of relationship between the two of them; from hostility (well, from Syaoran's part anyway) to friendship and then to love.

Syaoran CCS in elementary school is so funny, I can't stop comparing him with Syaoran TRC that's much more composed, they're from different universe but I can't stop thinking they're actually the same person in reincarnation or something XD

Well, they grew up in different environments though. Even if we assume that all Syaorans from different have the same inherent personality, growing up in different scenario does make them different. The TRC ones faced much more hardships since a young age. One was literally on the streets without any until Fujikata adopted him. The other (real) Syaoran (or Tsubasa, to be exact) was being taught how to survive on his own since he was a very little kid. He was also imprisoned for 7 years.

There aren't many male cinnamon rolls out there...............but I've found at least one.

Sure Syaoran may not has a crush on Yukito, but hear me out a little. In many sources, moon represents love, emotional connection, and enlightenment, so the feeling Syaoran has for Yukito is genuine in raw form. Basically an extreme puppy crush I guess. (This is all shaky and has barely any support.... still want to throw this here haha.)

Ah yes, one of the original "enemies to friends to lovers" icons in the anime world.

I assume syaoran looked 👀 back on this and regretted every bad thing he had ever done ✅ to Sakura.

Syaoran matured which is not the same. He was a brat at the beginning of CCS. You see a much more composed and timid self by the middle of the series when he mellows to Sakura yet doesn't know how to behave around her. In Clear Card, he has let go off his social insecurity and become confident both around her and everyone else, hence why he is so stoic yet caring. It's called character development and it's the reason why he is one of the best CLAMP characters.

You are correct. That would be the pronunciation of his name in Chinese. However when he came to Japan, his name was pronounced in the Katakana way, which is Shaoran (シャオラン). Somehow CLAMP decided to romanize his name as Syaoran.

Li Xiaolang* "Syaoran" is just a Japanized pronunciation of the name since they can't pronounce "Xiaolang" no "L" in the Japanese alphabet and I guess "Sya" sounds more natural than "Shia" the "Xi" makes the "shi" sound which is actually in the Japanese alphabet. "Syaoran" was created for a Japanese speaking audience who can't pronounce his real name. Doesn't change the fact that his name IS "Xiaolang"! It's like how "Showron" was created for English speaking audiences. @
