"Weak" is a song by American R&B vocal trio SWV for their debut studio album, It's About Time (1992). It was written and produced by Brian Alexander Morgan, who composed the lyrics based on a young person falling in love for the first time.[2] Morgan originally wrote the song for Charlie Wilson, but he later decided to give the song to SWV. Morgan revealed that Coko did not like the song and gave him attitude during the recording of the single.[3]
"Weak" was released as the third single from the album, following the commercial success of "I'm So into You". It topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in July 1993, ending the two-month-long reign of Janet Jackson's "That's the Way Love Goes". It sold over one million copies domestically and was awarded a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It also topped the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for two weeks. Outside the US, the single reached number six on the New Zealand Singles Charts, number 33 on the UK Singles Chart, number 42 on the Canadian RPM Top Singles chart and number 94 on the Australian Singles Chart.
Billboard named the song number 72 on their list of 100 Greatest Girl Group Songs of All Time.

Coko’s voice is legendary!! Legendary group!!
This dropped after I got out of high school; I was working at Checkers which was new to my hometown. I bought the cassette tape and played it daily. Every song was a bop!!! Personally, I liked the original version of RIGHT HERE but the Human Nature remix was cool. Some absolute jams by SWV would be Anything (fast version remix with Wu Tang is cool or slow version, very Quiet Storm-ish), Rain, You're Always on My Mind, & Use Your Heart (with my fav JOE on the background VO-Cals)!!!
Saw them in concert a few years ago with En Vogue, Guy and Bell Biv Devoe. They can still blow.

This will forever be a classic. I don’t know where you were in 1993, when it came out, but this song was literally everywhere! Absolutely 10s across the board!!!!
Empress those 90s girl groups. Those harmonies 🔥🔥. One of my favorite SWV songs. 90s CLASSIC ‼️Coko voice is so distinct but the other ladies (Taj & Lelee). Funny thing is that they did not originally like this song.

This was the song to sing in the talent show lol and before me and my friends learned the course we were saying I get so weak in the knees I can hardly speak as something something something something something something lol but we will always have the correct harmony but didn’t know the words lol I had to listen to it like three more times to get it great reaction as always

This song brings back so many memories...I was in 10th grade..all my black girlfriends in school loved them and they'd all sing it.. my youngest sister loved them too..she's always loved R&B and hip hop...such a classic

***SWV (Sisters with Voices) TRIVIA TIME!!!*** ....you weak for it!? ..... - SWV's debut Album, "It's About Time" came out Fall of 1992; ALL the record labels were looking for the 'next' Mary J.Blige, TLC, or EnVogue...here, they got THREE....Koko, Taj & LeeLee.... ..the first single, "Right Here" did moderately well (#12 R&B), but..."I'm So Into You" set things off RIGHT, by going Top 5 R&B and Top Ten Pop...but, "Weak" did better, by hitting Number ONE! - ...Then the Girls had the re-release of "Right Here / Human Nature" (with Michael Jackson giving his blessing), they just did NOT leave the charts! ...speaking OF the charts, here they are, #1 Pop, July of 1993, knockin' out Miss Janet..... 10. @@MsPhylie ...Thanks for adding that...and, I remembered sumpthin' else, ALSO...I was supposed to promote (unreleased) Dance Club remixes of "Right Here" Sept.(?) 1992, and I turned it down, to work on Malaika's "So Much Love"...citing that SWV was a 'knockoff TLC'! ...If I Only KNEW! ...ha-HAAA!
