I am going to try and make a rustic hazelnut shirasaya and sheath this could be interesting since the wood is very soft.

Tyler Edwards i think its maple, by the looks of it really expensive maple or ebony. Im not for sure im just going off my knowledge of guitar wood

Wow, such beautiful work, the passion and care shows through so cleanly! Now, I'm someone with a love of crazy stuff and I'm quite interested in the use and handling of Nodachi (sometimes called Odachi or "Horse cutting blade". Basicly the Japanese greatsword.) type blades, however I'm struggling to find any such bokken while there are plenty of wooden wasters for westen greatswords. You think it would be possible for you to craft a Nodachi?

You would have a really hard time breaking one of James' bokken, let alone even just denting it. They are like iron... incredibly strong.

Is it durable enough for sparring? Looks really great I'd get one just for show.
