The echoing of the miscellaneous effect at e.g. 3:05 is really nice, and the way you bring everything together in e.g. the beginning is wonderful. I think you have too much emphasis on doubling the melody at times: 3:21 is really just one melody line + accompaniment, 0:48 is especially boring, and though I liked what you tried at 0:56, the strings VST really brought it down. The entire arrange would sound much better just by switching your VST to something less stringent, I think. Perhaps a better idea would be to reduce your reliance on strings? For example, the piano coming in at 1:06 could've been a great lead if you made that overpower the strings. The overall cohesion could be improved: something more than that drumbeat to link 0:41 with the rest of the song, for example, so it doesn't just sound like a direct copy of the first phrase (no seriously, here's a great part to replace the strings with some other instrument. why didn't you?). There are some weird-sounding places like 0:27 too, but they don't matter too much. Really, I'm just nitpicking here, the entire thing is amazing. It's great that you had the perseverance to transcribe the entire thing. It's much better than what I could have ever done .___.

This is by far the best feedback I've had so far. Thank you! And thanks for dropping by - I'm going to answer your questions in the most arbitrary order out there. Where should I start... Hmm... The pull at 3:05 is something I had always wanted to try. It's lovely everytime I listen to it haha :p I am tuning every single instrument manually after recording. Which means: extending certain notes and correcting mistakes where needed after a midi recording. Since I'm using ''cheap'' plugins (I don't have those insane expensive and well-sounding ones), I have to EQ everything by trial-and-error. I am not using any pre-defined templates, I add instruments and tracks if I think it sounds okay, I guess. I totally agree that the overall cohesion could be improved. But I have to refrain myself from adding more things at the beginning (especially at the first verse of the song). I tend to add more things in the second verse (and on). About 0:27 - My transcriptions aren't 100% accurate, I have a weak relative pitch and I'm just a student who (re)arranges this stuff for fun - To me it sounds just fine. ^_^~ 0:41 - I did that on purpose. That was my way of transitioning to the next part. I do agree that people might 'lose' the flow of the song because the drums just fall silent. About the replacement of the strings: I LOVE STRINGS =) - No orchestra without strings. Lol, srsly. :p I hope to have answered all of your questions in this wall of text. I'm gonna reply arbitrarily too. Maybe splitting my first post into paragraphs would've been a good idea... 0:40's drum pause sounds great! It's what comes afterwards though: as far as I can tell, you basically have all three/four melody instruments playing exactly the same melody (which is rather boring)... Actually, I got kinda confused there. Turns out it was a typo, I meant 1:41's pause, since you end an entire section and begin a new one with only the drums to link them together. That link doesn't feel too secure... I can tell now that you've added a lot more in the refrains by 2:24! But I think you need even more variation than adding more accompaniment patterns, mainly because I hear the same strings sound every single refrain, which kinda drowns out the other stuff. The more I listen to this, the more I realize how intricate you made it at places like 1:59: I didn't notice that four-note background motif at all! But yeah, they keep on getting drowned out...

is this the real one or just extanded?
