You can do this and you can do that. Yet he doesn't buy the parts, put them together and SHOW how well his idea works. That alone should tell people a LOT about this video. He maybe didn't have the 30 bucks to buy the parts :)

Great idea! Ya those hitch anything that sticks out keeps people away. My custom welded step/hitch mount is about 13" out and people back away quickly when they come too close. I don't have to do anything.. they just see it and back away 😂

I don't quite understand what you're trying to do but it seems massively overcomplicated and expensive and a lot more prone to failure then buying a proper version of whatever you're trying to make. Is it like a off road trailer hitch? Cause you're missing an axis of rotation if it is

The idea is flawed. You gain 0 clearance by adding a pivot point in the middle of the hitch. The center will remain at the same distance from your car.

...🤔🤔🤔 Now you created the perfect storm for failure. Too many pieces bolted and pinned together. What's the rating of the Hitch? What's the grade of Bolts? What's the Grade of pins? Have you calculated the GVW of vehicle and the GVRW? Have you calculated the ratings of the bolts,pins hitches and etc.? Aaaah don't know what your application is for, but it can't be for awhole lot of anything but packing peanuts. I would definetily reconsider.🤣🤣🤣

Dude just spend the money 💰 buy the real deal American made most of these racks have welds crack failures fewer welds you have less chance of a rack failure. I have seen how cheap Chinese tow bars fail and yes most of them are from China 🇨🇳 and at high speed on the highway you don’t want this kind of failure and never assume the max weight of the equipment is accurate every weld is different and every wield has its flaw. I say American made so if it breaks their will be somebody’s door 🚪 you can kick 🦵 open an say you sold me crap 💩 and I want compensation. Harbor freight is just going to refer you back to China 🇨🇳 and you know how that will go.
