It’s a global embarrassment is what it is. It’s shown the EBU are truly a bunch of amateurs that don’t fully comprehend the far-reaching political implications of allowing in certain participants and arbitrarily wanting to appear strict with every other participant, including the ridiculous exclusion of the Dutch act.

If they want be consequent and have zero tolerance as they said with Joost disqualification then It apply also to Israel, but there biggest sponsor is from Israel, so they break there own ethical standards, thats why the crowd was so angry

Second, according to the only real information we've got so far (the broadcaster's story) he was being harassed by a camerawoman who kept filming him when it was agreed not to and also after being requested not to numerous times. He then responded with a threatening gesture. That's not a great response, sure. It also doesn't seem to amount to enough reason to outright disqualify someone without appeal.

Statement in English We have taken note of the disqualification by the EBU. AVROTROS finds the disqualification disproportionate and is shocked by the decision. We deeply regret this. An incident occurred after last Thursday's performance. Against clearly made agreements, Joost was filmed when he had just gotten off stage and had to rush to the greenroom. At that moment, Joost repeatedly indicated that he did not want to be filmed. This wasn’t respected. This led to a threatening movement from Joost towards the camera. Joost did not touch the camera woman. This incident was reported, followed by an investigation by the EBU and police. Yesterday and today we consulted extensively with the EBU and proposed several solutions. Nevertheless, the EBU has still decided to disqualify Joost Klein. AVROTROS finds the penalty very heavy and disproportionate. We stand for good manners -let there be no misunderstanding about that- but in our view, an exclusion order is not proportional to this incident. We are very disappointed and upset for the millions of fans who were so excited for tonight. What Joost brought to the Netherlands and Europe shouldn’t have ended this way.

I explain to you. If there's no jury votes, songs like Serbia and Portugal with less BPM stayed in last places, that's totally unfair. Israel won the televote in 60% of the countries this year, even in those that they never won in other years with better songs. Do you still believe in televote? , do you believe that jury vote must be banned?

@@andrecosta8679 I believe that we need the jury voting, but it should be more transparent regarding the criteria on which they base their decisions, otherwise it quickly turns to misuse of power. For example, Israel gave 12 points to Luxembourg this year. Why? Is it because she was born in Israel? Meow. At the end of the day it is not the juries that will be listening to your song, but rather public. And there nemo ended 5th, while Baby Lasagna ended FIRST. Real winner of esc 2024. In either case, this esc will be remembered as the really sad one with all that Netherlands and israel situation

Baby Lasagna received a big welcome in the Croatian capital Zagreb. Emilia from the Croatian group Riva, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1989 for Yugoslavia, was there. Croatian singer Tatiana Cameron, better known as Tajči, who was the last to compete for Yugoslavia in 1990, was also there. And of course Let 3, who competed for Croatia last year, were there too.

William, will you make a video about the disqualification of the Netherlands? I'd like to know your opinion on this, because you haven't said a word about it.

Nemo in the Swiss music charts, own country, topped at 22nd place, says it all. Nemo is not a public winner by far, only 4th in the semifinal, and now 5th in the final. They disqualified the Dutch because was 2nd in the same semifinal and would certainly take a lot more points to Swiss than Croatia. The jury system knew they had to give the Swiss abnormal amount of points and sometimes zero to the Croat (which also lost some 12 points with Israeli televoting manipulation). It was rigged in advanace as Switzerland was chosen as the future winner. This year was the best example how much Eurovision is manipulated and pointless, there's nothing sincere about it.

Maybe the non-binary Nemo had to win the competition because it fits the current agenda better. BUT, and this is very important, the LGBTQ+ community overwhelmingly supported the heterosexual Baby Lasagna and not the non-binary Nemo. This is very important because it proves that it is not about gender or sexual preference, but about music and emotions. AND the LGBTQ+ community has once again proven that they really live the motto "United by Music" and for that, a big THANK YOU!!!

think we should talk about this. The jury once again decided who wins. Its not a competition at the moment, it is Ebu politics. We need to speak up and demand change, not stay quiet. At the moment the only ones that are speaking about the problems are the artists, and we need to back them up. And speak about the problems of this "competition" or admit that there is no true competition.

Because EBU conveniently used all loopholes in their vague rules to justify kicking Russia and Belarus out, while keeping in Israel (and Moroccanoil, the general sponsor for years, an Israeli company). I wonder how come ESC with its 160-200 million viewers every year is not able to find a better sponsor than this israeli company whose products aren't even for mass retail sale but for niche consumers like professional hair salons. The answers that pop up are that 1. Moroccanoil's offer is so out of proportions that nobody can compete with that commercially, which means Moroccanoil is disregarding market laws and is overpaying the sponsorship 2. If this is so, somebody has to be behind such offer, otherwise any business would be ruined like that. I really wonder who might that be. Mr Ö, shame on you.

You'd think there'd be footage of the incident given that the alleged victim was filming Joost at the time of the incident. Should be a clear-cut case.

its a scandal - that Joost Klein was disqualified.... they should protect artists more especially those we know that are vulnerable, sensible like Joost ...

I believe that they should have let him compete after all taking that singer off the competion after being selected in semi-final will not reflect the people's vote correctly- whomever intended to vote for him either wont vote at all or do last minute change - either way votes of what people choose will not reflect correctly. They should have waited until they complete their investigation and action after the contest over. Additionally, if the incident occurred before the news conference, why did they choose after the conference about this incident. The logical conclusion is that something went wrong at the news conference.
