I'd check that place out. Can we get a view inside one of the houses?
I think that old European style of architecture is calming because it reminds one of a time that was neither too simple or complicated. Sorta what you need, maybe a little extra that you want, but not too showy or excessive. Kinda practical.

Another GREAT video Evan👍👍👍
Totally enjoyed this vlog! Love the location, the hotel, and the adorable Swiss village! Keep up the good work!
Wow! We would not expect to see this beautiful, scenic and charming resort place in the Philippines. Thanks for showcasing this and perhaps someday we'll get to visit it.
T, Great video. I love the cool weather in the mountain areas of The Philippines. There are many nice cool areas in the islands of paradise that are still fairly cheap. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year!!
Great video. Tagaytay is definitely on my list of places to visit.

I'm moving to BGC in January. I am a tennis player and saw pictures of the courts you hit at. They look nice. Can you tell me the name of that place so I can check it out. Thank you.
Thanks for yet another interesting episode - the „Swiss“ style buildings remind me more of Disney World, but it still looks like a pleasant enough area; Lausanne (pronounced „lo-sun“ in English) is a city in the south-west - French-speaking - part of Switzerland. Looks like you could enjoy and celebrate your grandfather‘s birthday in style!
Such a cool video! I’ve never been to Tagaytay -such deprivation 😜…

Wow great place! :)
Sweet!
my fav resto is there is Antonios. but they open 2 in manila now witch is amazing!
I was in Tagaytay 3 weeks ago. Stayed as Escala. I really liked the area and the climate. Lake/volcano views are beautiful. However it’s really spread out so you need a car or take trike to get anywhere. I thought Crosswinds was a bit of a disappointment compared to Swiss themed places in the US and Switzerland. Crowded and just ok. I loved Antonio’s for dinner. One of the best meals I’ve had in the Philippines !

Thanks for sharing Chris. I thought Antonio's wasn't bad, Crosswinds was small but a nice change from everyday Philippine llife.

Hey, good to bump into you at Highlands inside Shangri-la! After the bubble of BGC’s concrete jungle, we are headed to Tagaytay for a good part of our stay, albeit brief. Your vlog succinctly summarizes what to expect! As you, too would know, there really is no novelty if one has resided in a city and suburbs. Ultimately, setting roots would be where there are commonplace amenities, including safety and proximity to reasonable transportation. Cheers!
Love that place.

I haven't been down to the Twin Lakes Hotel but the view from the top at Bag Of Beans was a really nice view of the entire area. One of these days when I'm in the Philippines I will go to Crosswinds especially when it's only a short ride from Silang. I don't know if you had a chance to go to People's Park In The Sky but if not you should go there. I love where we live because we have a great view of the side where everyone drives up to People's Park and we're only about a 15 minute drive from Tagaytay. Our house is about 19km (12 miles) north of the main crater of Taal so we are a little outside of the danger zones. I did get to see the Taal eruption of January 12, 2020 and our house got covered with volcanic ash but I am happy to have a house there. Getting to go to Tagaytay all of the time is fun and it never gets old to me except for the traffic at times. I prefer the province life over the city life but going to Manila is also fun to do with many attractions to see and it's only about an hour drive.
@TheSavvyExpat

Right on Steven! The location of your place is perfect to experience all of the attractions of the Philippines. City life in Manila is nearby, Tagaytay's attractions only 15 min away, and beaches in Batangas is a couple hours away.b

@@TheSavvyExpat Yes sir you are right Evan. Eventually when the Bataan Cavite Bridge is completed that will open the door to Subic and much more.
ahh...Back at Twin Lakes, Tagaytay. It's nice to see that you can find a cool area in PI other than Baguio! A very very nice area Evan. Great Video! I do have one question: How is the nightlife in Tagaytay? It looks like an upscale mountain area, so I'm not expecting a major bar scene, but I've been to a lot of mountain ski resorts which do have nightlife.
@TheSavvyExpat

Good to be back! The Nightlife scene in tagaytay isn't prevalent. It's quite calm at night and there aren't many bars unless you're staying at a hotel.
is it infamous ? or the Famous Tagaytay ? infamous is Bad , right?
@TheSavvyExpat

is that so? my bad 😂
I travel alot and been to Tagaytay many times..Yes it's very different for the Philippines blessed with cooler weather..a relief from Manila NCR heat...However when I compared accommodation prices with when I was in Switzerland it's noticeably more expensive here and definitely not Europe..but still beautiful in its own ways.
@-BigIi-
Жыл бұрын
that says so much.. that it's Tagaytay, it's not Europe, not the West, yet it can be so expensive, at times even more expensive than Norway! I find many accommodations in the Philippines are way more expensive than the West, and those for sale can often be said to be ''taking the biscuit'' - if you get my drift.

@@-BigIi- I guess thats business and the owners like to cash in on it's scenic beauty and value as a popular holiday retreat.

Yup, Tagaytay can be overpriced for what it's worth. I think it's because it's one of the few places that offer a different experience than the rest of the Philippines so business owners take advantage of that. I recommend you check out Tanay, Rizal for even colder whether and cheaper prices.
Happy Birthay PoPi ❤

I like Baguio City but I think that Tagaytay is worth checking out from this video as a possible place to build a home. I am trying to get close to the weather that we have here in Colorado plus I am in love with mountains etc. Also avoid the traffic and crowds in Manila.
@edwardlawler9487

Close to Colorado lol that’s not happening in the Philippines by no means cold to them is 60s at best maybe 50s but that’s rare unless it’s a true high mountain point and maybe rain
Great video, thank you. How about living expenses, rentals, etc. in Tagaytay? Maybe in another video?

I'd like to see inside one of the swiss houses if possible. Are there vacation rentals there?
Great new video. How expensive is Tagaytay for a day.... a month, a year to visit or live in?
I love Crosswinds Tagaytay but gets too crowded during weekends and holidays.
Is thete a buffet serivce that you can take advantage of if one have tlo be booked in twin lakes hotel ?

I’m a Swiss national working in PH, I had chance to stop by Lausanne in Tagaytay, sorry to say it has absolutely nothing to compare with SWI and it’s completely over rated, price of land is ridiculous for what you get. PS: We have no windmill in SWI maybe they get confused with Netherland ??? Good job for you channel, Happy New year 2024 and keep doing the good job 👍🏻

Off topic but hoping you can give me some reassurance here. I am going to the Philippines in February to be with my girlfriend (currently unemployed but actively looking for work) and have already booked flights and hotels - how likely is an employer to grant her already pre-booked holiday?

about 10% of Tagaytay caters for the tourists. The rest is much more Philipino.
All I see is $ / "DOLLAR SIGNS" -- and so - who's paying the bill for all that ? --- And - how much it all cost ? --- You should be having some gratitude for such extravagance !
You think you could find out how much it cost to hire some armed security guards or body guards? I can't find it anywhere else.

I appreciate the less production and more narrative approach you take. Constant intrusive music and video gymnastics is a major distraction-for me (it also suggests someone hasn't done their homework or can't articulate and present in an informative way...but not you!)
