I suspect many iPhone users won't even bother with the new customization options. As customization isn't the main reason people are buying iPhones.

I’m so tired of apple I’m getting out in August I wish I could sooner

I became an Android user back in the Galaxy SIII days, when I got bored of iOS 6 and the iPhone (after owning an iPhone original, an iPhone 3G, an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 4S) I gave the iPhone another shot 2 years ago, and I absolutely hated my experience: It felt so limited and restricted, in so many ways. The famous "Apple Golden Jail" expression we hear from time to time is real... These days I'm rocking a Galaxy S24 Ultra and I love that phone and the user experience. I'm big Tasker user (to automate almost everything and add advanced features/functions), and that's something I could only dream of on iOS

The Shortcuts app on iPhone is the single most under rated iPhone feature. You can automate a ton. Most iOS users have no idea of its capabilities. I use both Android and iOS. After the release of iOS 18, split screen multitasking may be the last advantage Android has for my day to day usage

I gave my daughter an s23ultra and now I'm really thinking about replacing my 15pro max with an s24ultra😮

I've got both too.. Not sure how you say S24 Ultra hands down.... I have the S24 ultra with the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and the earbuds Pro2 as well as the apple watch ultra with the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the Airpods Pro .... Apple has many things they do better than Samsung. The camera on the iPhone is better in general, the speakers on the phone are better, some app optimization are better on Apple as well (Instagram, Snapchat for example) The S24 Ultra has the better display tho, and it feels snappier in general. But to say the S24 wins no comparison.... Please LOL

Voice transcription is present in the Notes app in iOS 18, isn’t it?

Nice review and perspective. Still a long way to go but how do they expand their customizations and currently miss; split screen, numbers row on the keyboard? Good effort Apple... hopefully the customizations expand by the time of its official release.

Do you prefer dark mode on your iPhone.

Whatsapp just needs to add that schedule message option and custom emojis since most of the world uses whatsapp anyways. The new features are nice but besides these ones, android users aren't missing out imo.

Yeah... What's a iMessage? We are about that WhatsApp, said 2 Billion plus people globally. I think Apple iis really missing the point here, by refusing to have RCS on their iPhone and even worse, by not having an Android version of iMessage. Because i think that this would be a great way to compete with The Zuckster's WhatsApp and also serve to entice people to their proverbial walled garden of devices and services.

I bought the 15 pro max and even though with those upcoming features it’ll be more similar to android it still bothers me the notification management, the keyboard and the fact that you don’t have a camera folder and are able to move photos from one album to another entirely (and they’ll make it worse with the new redesign). There might be less reasons not to switch but still those tiny ones are a headache. Also the "remove all” option you mentioned is because apple claims you should only close an app if it’s not behaving correctly because apparently if you close apps just because it actually hurts the battery so you should let them open all the time unlike in android and there are multiple articles and videos about this

Once an iPhone user, you can still enjoy the fun stuff on Android, that’s new and different. But eventually it just gets mundane. That’s when you return to an iPhone. And when doing so, convincing one self that it is because of all the changes made. It’s not! It make take you a little more time to realize, but we’ll see you soon 😋

Either option is mundane. I'm bored of Samsung. First iPhone in like 10 years will be the 16 pro max for me. Should be awesome. Never was an iPhone hater, just preferred android. Nowadays I don't care about the cool hardware, screens or freedom of android. Just looking for something reliable. ChatGPT integration is the best AI solution possible right now, so iPhone makes sense to me now.

@ValisMind you should review the cases that have ink black screen that you can add to your S24 Ultra.

There are some ios apps I miss including Moneywiz and iCloud Photo Library but I love the split screen, S Pen, number row on keyboard, close all apps etc too much to consider switching back. Also the ease at getting videos, music and photos onto the S24 Ultra using a USB stick is great. Spreadsheet and file shortcuts on homescreen is so good too.

Split screen is a gimmick imo, takes too long to set up Spen is nice very rarely, that’s why I save my signature on my iPhone so I don’t need a pen or get a 25$ one from Amazon Gboard has a number row on the iPhone keyboard And the close all tabs button is the only thing I’d consider really useful but still, iPhones ram management is miles better

Wondering if IOS 18 will finally allow two esims to work at the same time on 5G or will it still be limited to LTE?

Literally, the only two things for me to switch from Samsung to an iPhone are transcribing in the voice recorder app and proper multitasking.

The main reason for these videos is because there are alot of people out there that still struggle to make the decision of which way to go. Also if you want to talk about bloatware, garage band, apple email and calendar, notes, apple tv, reminders and now on ios 18 a passwords app. All phone manufacturers do it.

What holds me back is the shadyness of Apple and the Apple fanboys who know nothing of technology and keep regurgitating the same stuff from 15 years ago. The ecosystem, the smoothness, the build quality, blah blah blah. Hasn't changed and it ain't even true smh

🍎 I am not downloading iOS 18 until the release candidate I am not going to enjoy the AI features coming because I am on an older iPhone. While it is great that Apple added more customization options which does refresh iOS a lot, i won’t do much with it outside of possibly turning on the dark mode. On the app icons. What I do like is that RCS is now available. Good for me to text higher quality media to friends using Android that is using iOS. Speaking g of RCS I just had to help a friend turn on RCS on his S24 ultra so he can send better text messages. As for split screen multitasking there should be a poll as to how many people actually use it or know it’s an available feature on Android. I also have an older Pixel. I have only used split screen multitasking. But I get that you do use it and therefore having it offers more choice.

I noticed many of those features like screen projection , power button on screen, secure apps and folders and customization I noticed I have had on one ui for years. But apple did well with the satellite emergency and text , crash detection, AI personal voice, math notes , and Apple Intelligence Siri . The truth is both Android and Apple copy each other but for me android is too fun to use and I haven't had ios as my main phone for many years and I don't plan on going back

The day that Apple brings separate audio similar to what the Galaxy phones have to iPads, particularly, is when I may pick up another Apple device. I will never go back to an iPhone. Happy with my Galaxy S23 Plus. And also, even if I did get an iPad again in the future, it is only for applications I'd use that are Apple-specific. Ferrite recording studio, being one of those.

11:22 I use multitasking almost all the time..

ios 18 has some good tweaks, but they missed the mark, multitasking is still rubbish. still missing split screen, app pop out, DEX, secure folder, dual apps, dual video and audio playback.

@@Aggie4life77 no ios 18 its just a hidden apps folder, thats really not that hidden. samsung secure folder is completely differnt, is a virtual phone within samsung, completely seperate where you can have seperate accounts, files, pictures, apps, notifications etc and you can set a differnt passcode to the main one, much more powerful!

The last time Google Assistant was integrated into a phone, that was from LG, and we all know what happened to them in the mobile department. And by the way, Bixby and the quote of the day, that beats Google out of the water. Yes, I consider that to be a good thing.

TBH, I think 90% of the complaints of texting the "green bubble people" is the low quality media, and bad group chats. RCS fixes both of those. I know my circle of friends couldn't care less about the other iMessage features like sticker reactions, cute animations and the like. I could be wrong, but I hope I'm not. I hope the RCS integration removes the majority of the friction with iOS users texting us Android users

Iphones is just that, simple phone for the majority. Out of all my family even my parents so used to ios, aint changing anytime soon, except for me android n ios user here.

Americans buy iPhones for iMessage. Internationally, people buy iPhones as a status symbol. Those 'new' features won't sway anyone to shift from their preferred OS. Most iPhone users are just not tech savvy.

As an Apple “fanboy” I didn’t get my first iPhone due to peer pressure or status symbol or feeling better about myself or for any other reason than the fact that it just worked better for me. May try apple 16 pro max or might wait for s25ultra but the s24ultra is a unfinished phone its crap i wanted to love it so bad. Thats why i ordered 5 times but ever one did the same thing. Plus the camera when ur zooming in switching between lenses is not smooth. I cant explain it but the phone was not for me

iPhone feels so far behind Android. Their AI features announced seem gimmicky and don’t really appear to help people with real world tasks. My personal experience with Siri has been terrible as well to. Overall operating in iOS and in Apple’s ecosystem feels like prison and very constrained. Great at marketing but their overpriced phones are frustrating to use once you experience what phones can really do on the other side. Not hating on iPhones or their users, they are just not for me. I need freedom.

I think you said a lot of good thing, but I don’t agree with using open AI that isn’t proprietary to Apple. It doesn’t give them control over security, which to me is a huge huge red flag. And it’s kind of lazy from a company as big as Apple. I have a 15 pro max and nothing that they are showing in their AI features is something you can’t get on android already. I’m probably switching back on the S 25.

Not exactly how the security works. The only way Apple allows outside AI into their platform is if they can verify the authenticity of their privacy otherwise it is rejected by Apple. Another reason why Apple privacy rules…

Because an iPhone has fewer functions than a Samsung, that does not make the iPhone a worse phone. Apple simply chooses to do things differently. There are many reasons why the iPhone is a more suitable phone than a Samsung phone. Apple fitness, Apple Music, Apple Pay, FaceID, security and all updates, smooth swiping, super fast processor combined with the RAM memory, the connection with other Apple devices runs without delay or lag, luxurious model, fits comfortably in the hand and in the pocket, nice, sleek image, many options for people with an illness or disability, safe apps, Standby mode, best battery. For these reasons I'll just stick with an iPhone. Ok, the phone is fairly boring, but it is very multifunctional.

The body design is uncomfortable to the palm if you hold the phone without a case as the sides are sharp. Samsung has also started providing 8yrs of OS updates. Now the subject of apple music, fitness, touch ID is subjective as people prefer one or another. The Androids have been smooth for yrs now (if you actually spent the same amount on them as you would on an iPhone). Safety of apps on Androids was never an issue unless you had no prior common sense or knowledge on how to determine safe apps from harmful apps. The battery has been the best on S24 Ultra for a while now. I don't mean that iPhone is bad or anything, just that most if not all features you like are available on Android and that too with many alternatives and varieties to choose from. The apple ecosystem and pairing of devices is the smoothest out there and I agree that it's a very definitive advantage over android. But considering other factors the android phone is better in most aspects.

@@MayankGupta-th3wt it’s crazy to me that the iPhone is getting very close to Samsung’s customisation the iPhone now has most of the things such as AOD,120HZ,schedule text,usbc,ability to move apps anywhere you’d like, able to change the Lock Screen shortcut buttons, locking apps and hiding apps , I always wanted to switch to android but Apple really did it this year and that’s really good enough for me to stay with Apple.

​@Juicemanee take 10 more minutes to see again how much one ui has.. and u will see how behind iphones still are. The improvements they make are only as many as the amount of stuff they can talk about in the event , so the hype doesn't get dissipated but gets focused on certain features, so people will hype these for long time. Marketing ho 💸 ho 💸
