SWITCHING ON CAMERA & NON-HUMAN ALTERS | All About Alters 3 | Debunking DID Ep 5 | REUPLOAD

"THIS VIDEO IS A RE-UPLOAD OF AN ORIGINAL VIDEO FIRST POSTED TO / dissociadid ON: 1st July 2018
THIS VIDEO WAS CREATED SOLELY BY US WITH NO OUTSIDE INPUT. WE ARE THE SOLE CREATORS AND THE SOLE COPYRIGHT HOLDER OF THIS VIDEO AND ITS CONTENT. THIS FACT IS NOT DISPUTED.
"Sally, Amira, and Chloe explain why some DID Systems have Non-Human and animal alters, and how they are created! SCROLL DOWN FOR RESEARCH LINKS.
Seeing Amira in the footage was a big surprise - our system is now 22 Alters strong! (-Note from Kya - December 2021 - the System was not that small 😬😂)
Switching from Sally/Amira to Chloe begins at 14:30.
NOTE FROM JANUARY 2020: (Video was filmed in JUNE 2018)
We now know Amira is a non-human alter herself, a tiger. Knowing this I notice that she grimaces/bares her teeth when talking about abuse. Thank you Amira for joining this video, even before you had introduced yourself to us personally.

I know we’re late to the party but we wanted to thank you for this video! We have a few non-human and animal alters ourselves and they often feel unrecognized, left out, and unimportant because they’re unknown or looked down on by so many people. We can introduce you to some of our animal alters. TW// Ab/se . . . We have an unnamed alter (he sometimes calls himself Asterax) who presents as fox, having formed after being locked somewhere for weeks, starved and beaten to unconsciousness over and over again. He hid a lot of the time and managed to avoid harsher punishments, sucking up to his abusers as much as possible. Like a fox, he used charming and smart words along with thinking quickly. He’s less animalistic and is able to speak in human-tongue and complete basic, daily tasks. He’s one of our physical protectors. We love him as much as we love the rest of our system and acknowledge that he plays just as much of an important role as the rest of the alters in our system. We have another alter who presents barkself as a dog and goes by the name ‘Treat’. Bark was forced to eat out of a dog bowl, sleep on a dog bed, obey every of their abuser’s commands and walk around on all fours as a humiliation tactic. Treat was gaslighted into returning to barks abuser. Bark’s very animalistic and could be considered ‘feral,’ they enjoy being pet and taken of walks. At times Treat can be untamable and impossible to interact with, this is not the case all of the time however. Bark can speak in human tongue to some extent and can perform basic needs for the body. Their another one of our physical protectors. We love bark as much as we love the rest of our system and acknowledge that they play just as much of an important role as the rest of the alters in our system. We have so many more but so far Bark and Asterax are the two alter’s we know for sure are okay with us sharing part of their story. Thank you for reading if you’ve read this far, it means more than you know.

The story about the snake alter is so horrific, how can anyone do that to a child?!?! However, otherwise I enjoyed the video, thank you for reuploading. It's so soothing to listen to Sally, it was also nice to meet Amira! You don't have to feel embarassed about filming switching, it's personally to me really interesting and seeing it in lots of your videos normalized it for me as well. However if you decide you don't feel comfortable filming it at any point in time, that's entirely your decision and you have every right to it 😁, so don't feel pressured to leave it in if you don't feel comfortable with it at any point in time.

I am a victim of physical, mental and emotional abuse by my father but it was never this extreme. It gives me comfort learning more about the effects of abuse because throughout my childhood I always thought it was my fault that I was abused. It took me a long time to fully love myself. Although, to this day it is still difficult for me whenever I come back home to visit my family. My dad always makes fun of me for getting so jumpy whenever he is around. Whenever he touches or tries to hug me now I get so uncomfortable and I want him to stop but I just don’t know what to say to him because he’s my dad. Watching your videos give me so much more comfortable through my difficulties. So, thank you so much! I know it’s impossible to read every comment on your channel but I like commenting anyways because I just feel like your channel is such a comfortable space to talk about things that are going on. Thank you so much for being so open! I would love to understand more about how you think your system developed your nonhuman alter. @@SerenaGr Often alters take the form of something that makes the child feel safe, so if they were abused by a man they may split a woman as a caregiver or if they were abused a girl they may split a boy trauma holder to avoid getting too close to what happened. One of the main reasons systems can form mostly or entirely non-human alters is because we were abused or neglected by so many humans around us of every age range and gender (men, women, boys, girls, etc.) that the only type of “person” that wouldn’t cause cognitive dissonance were animals and fantasy creatures. I find that non-human dominated systems are most common in multi-perpetrator abuse where the child has no more trust for any humans. It also has a lot to do with being dehumanized which is also common in severe abuse, most people cannot commit severe abuse without dehumanizing their victim. It’s less painful to be dehumanized if you are an animal and are separate from everyone who is hurting you.

Thank you for sharing your videos! I had a switch this morning (I tend to have them throughout the day). When I started writing my dark psychological fantasy series, I struggled to write logically, but intuitive writing brought out the different parts of me. Since then, I've discussed my issues with therapists. One said, "You seem to think of yourself as a novel." That made a lot of sense, as I focused on reading the most when my mom compared me to my brother who started reading the Bible at 3 years old. At four, I felt dumb for struggling to read, but my daddy, who passed away in 2006 (he was a truck driver, so absent, though he made sure we knew we had his love), told me it was okay that I took time to think. He seemed to see how I'd visualize what I read, or study the pictures on the pages. The animal alters I seem to have: dragon, dogs, wolves, cats, tigers, mermagons (mermaid dragon), mermaids, and wolagons (wolf dragons). They come out in awkward times, usually when I'm excited or angry at something. For example, when I learned I had sand flea allergies in Iraq, I growled while running on the treadmill because my ankles itched so much! When that happened, the doctor gave me hydrocortizone cream. That didn't work, so I convinced him to give me a bottle of iropropyl alcohol. That worked. Sometimes, the animal alters show me what I need in life more than logical thinking does. Sometimes I wonder if it's all fantasy, but my gut tells me the fantasy exists because the alters formed early in life. The lack of consistent life memories leads me to believe my fantasies are my realities. Living life is easier when I stop doubting myself and just learn.

I feel sad that Sally didn't get to finish her video :( I wanted to hear her explanation of fictives (I'm not sure if that's how you spell it) this channel has been so informative. I'm glad I stumbled upon it some years ago. I felt like I was witnessing a very private moment during the switch to Chloe😳 but I want to thank the entirety of the dissoiaDID system for all the information I've acquired and I wish y'all nothing but the best (if you see this :) )

It is so brave of you to allow us to see the switch on camera. It helps us to understand. At the same time, it is truly private and completely your choice (all of you involved) to decide if it's too private or you feel to vulnerable to show us. Also, I appreciate the captions that explain when a switch is happening, when more than one alter is fronting, or even when a spider is distracting you!

Not sure if anyone has this experience, the reference from my non-human alter was when I was like, 18? And then, he appeared. Wondering if someone could enlighten me, could it be my other alters who had those traumas and memories, and decided to pass it to him when he was created?

I'm sorry that you're all having to deal with such a stressful time right now. It's wrong what that person is doing to you. But if it weren't for the drama, I never would have found this channel ( I found it through a somewhat random suggestion on my homepage for VangelinaSkov's video discussing the issue), and I'm so happy I did. Your videos are amazing, and through your bravery and vulnerability, you are helping to educate the world about DID, and teaching all of us how to be more empathetic towards those we perceive as different. Thank you, all of you. ❤️
