Why did you not install the beads? What are they for?
Setup was a nightmare, I had grommet curtains, . Grommets get stuck and bunch up slowing it down. After buying the Switchbot I also had to buy new tab curtains, curtain rings with clips and a 2 wood dowels to use as the rod. My curtains needed to be replaced so it wasn't a big deal and everything else was inexpensive (dowels were $8 each, rings and clips were $25) but it was a pain in the butt. If you have a large window with a telescoping rod, toss it and get a single rod, trust me, this will saver you hours of frustration. I played around with the rod connector, it was useless, curtains still got stuck, somebody suggested using tape, that also failed. Went to rings and clips holding the curtains, still got stuck where the one rods inserts into the other. After hours I decided to just get a one piece rod. This was extremely difficult as my length needed to be 120 inches. No single rods available, you would need to get a custom rod, I saw prices at $300 and up. So I decided to try a wood dowel. Still could not find one long enough but I was able to get two then use a dowel pin screw to connect the two rods together with the connection being in the middle which is where both Switchbots will stop. Working perfectly now. I'm gonna stain the dowel rods and they will look as nice as a $200 custom curtain rod! OH, now I have to buy the $40 hub for it to work with Google, Alexa or Siri. That sucks!!
