Hi, we'd like to install a double patio glass door with two adjacent fixed panels. We would like to use minimum clips and avoid using channels. Is that possible to still conceal the wire? Do you serve San francisco bay area? If not, do you recommend anyone around here? Thanks!

I'd like to use this on windows that are opposite my OLED tv, as a blackout screens to avoid them reflecting on the screen during the day.... However it seems the light from outside is more diffused than blacked out, hence I would simply see the white diffused light reflected on the screen instead of whatever light might come in naturally..... Would this be the right product? Normal roller blinds can't be used as the windows are tilting, and would hit any roller installation

Glass can be installed by any licensed glazier contractor and electrician to connect, the smart film is more difficult. We have smart film certified installers in US and Canada.

It can be front but the quality is not so good.

Yes is possible. It’s depends of the projector, but you may loose the quality, you have to try first the projector.

I would like to follow up on this. Most any projector should be able to front or rear project. It is a simple image flip done within the projector. What caught me off guard is you stated you might lose quality.. Do you suggest that front projecting may lose quality? What would be the cause of this? Reflection from the glass? Thanks so much.

We need more details. Anyway most likely the wires will be visible. Or you can use a magnetic connection and use the transparency mode only when the windows are closed.

You will either have to have wires that connect to the door and loop over to the wall, but the wire will have to have slack in it to be able to move with the door. For this method, put the wire on the door at the back top edge of the door and then loop it to a junction box halfway between the doors full travel distance. Use at least 16ga stranded copper wire (we call it “cab tire”). The other possible way would be to put 2 conductive roller contacts on the top of the door, and 2 strips of conductive copper under the track of the door while insulating them from the track. This way is cleaner, but more difficult to install. And the rolling contacts may not be as reliable and will be subject to marring wear and tear. Also, be careful to only put voltage to the window film, and not the whole door. 48V will sting a little, especially if you’re wet lol.

Can the film be cut at an angle for a rake window?

It’s case by case, you can trim the film on the job site, but have to use very sharp knife... for example we trim for door handles.

I have a few questions if you don't mind... What are the approximate voltage/wattage needed to power the film?... Say per sqft. Can you have a frosted or clear design in the glass? Like a name or vector image. Are you guys considering producing LED film also?... Concepts seem pretty similar.

Corbin Buesch - the smart film is operated on 48V ( we have a UL certified transformer from 110>48V) - for 100-120 sqft we have 125Watts transformer - for 120-300 sqft we have 375Watts transformer - is a PDLC technology (polymer-dispersed liquid-crystal) Get more details here: www.smartglassmiami.com

Hi from NZ .. is the film clear,,,, or can you see it... i have extremely clear window panes and a beautiful view.... id like to use this product but i fear it will "taint" my view ... so question is... how clear is it

The PriWatt film is not clear as regular glass. Depends of the light contrast, you can have some reflection. I recommend it to use only if you really need privacy. Like bathrooms, berdooms, etc...
