Hello Alexis and Louis! I feel like this video definitely helped me figure out which pass will be best for me. My boyfriend and I will be in Switzerland for two weeks in October and will be renting a car the whole trip. I planned out a circular route around the country and I’m thinking we will go with the Half Fare card. I feel like that’s the better option since we won’t be taking public transportation every day and will more so need it for any mountain gondolas. Thanks so much for all the helpful tips!

Great video!! There isn't much advertising out there regarding regional passes. Our trip is planned for June 11-July 1. I plan on buying the half fare card as well as the Berner Oberland Pass. Our trip starts in Appenzell and our 3 night hotel stay provides us with an Appenzell holiday card, which covers our travel in that region. We're staying in Murren and the BO pass covers roughly half the distance to our next stop in Montreux. The Lake Geneva Pass covers the rest of the distance and all of our travel in that area. Thanks again.

Hi Alexis & Louis! Really love your videos and thank you for the helpful information!! For Top of Europe Pass, will we get a reduction as well if we have Swiss Travel Pass or its only for Swiss Half Fare Pass holder? And is it better to be paired with Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Pass? Also, can you make a video on Zermatt peak to peak passes vs the point to point ticket. Is it worth it to get the passes?

Great tips for travelers, Alexis & Louis! Bottom line from my experience is that Swiss public transportation is SUPER! Between train, boat, & bus you can get to so many places, even many places that are off the beaten path (my favorite spots to go). Do note for your followers that the term "museum" includes most castles, the library at St. Gallen, and the wonderful open air museum of Ballenberg--a real deal! When faced with an entry fee just ask--you may be pleasantly surprised.

Hey guys - Thk God I found this channel & thk you for doing it. Quick story. We are a family of 5 (kids/adults-ages 24,22,18) & we love to travel & take advantage of the rare times we are all together. Unfortunately it’s always around the holidays, crazy expensive. This year we searched & threw around ideas where to go - long story longer -we are going to Switzerland. Very impromptu but we booked a week ago. Now it’s time to plan and luckily we came across your channel, which I’m starting to binge. But wanted to get your suggestion on how to attack. We will be there from 12/23-12/27 staying in Brienz on the lake. So we have about 3.5 days. We fly into Zürich. Ton of questions but I want to be respectful of your time and I think I can get most from your channel but I wanted to ask you with the time we have what itinerary would you put together to get the most of Switzerland? And by the way my son (24) would like to snow board. Any help is greatly appreciated. And what pass would you recommend

Very good video, right on target! Just two little remarks about trains: it's obviously not the classiest thing to do, but it's not forbidden to spread your feet on the seat in front of you. A lot of people do it (mostly young people, I admit) from time to time. If you do it, however, it's important to take off your shoes (or put a newspaper under your feet). Under these conditions, no train agent will reproach you. And of course, you have to free the seat in front when the train fills up! In that It's the same thing for bags and suitcases... Please, no bags on the seat next to you or in front of you when the train is filling up, it's basic courtesy... and yet even at rush hour, some people wait for passengers to ask them if they can sit down to finally remove their bags. This is inexcusable! The second thing is, buying your train ticket in advance allows you to save a lot of money indeed, but not as much as you make it seem in the video. Most of the time, the discount is between 20 and 50% if you buy it more than a week in advance. In some rare cases, you can get 60% off, but I've never seen three times less than the regular price!

Hi Alexis and Louis, I booked a trip to visit Switzerland and Germany for this summer and our plans are to fly into Zurich then travel to Interlaken for 2 days. From there spend 3 days in Grindelwald, then head to Fussen Germany for a couple of days and finally head to Munich to end our trip. We are not renting a car, so all train travel. After watching your videos, it sounds like a good option would be to get Eurail passes and Top of Europe passes and that should cover most of the travels between locations. Please let me know if you think another option would be better. Thank You !

Hi, I really loved your video and it is very informative. I wanted to ask a question if I buy a 2nd class swiss travel pass can I reserve seats in Prestige coach in the Golden pass express or reserve seat in 1st class in the Belle Epoque train. I am really confused, could you help me provide some clarification.

Hi guys. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE GREAT INFO! You guys are lifesavers! I'm preparing for my trip to Switzerland in December and I did a mock ticket buying for 2 months in advance so I could see the fares from Nuremberg, Germany to Luzern. OK, I think I did something wrong cause the price the SBB site gave me for FIVE people on this trip was CHF 244. Also, next to BUY NOW link it says "Sparpreis Europa incl. City-Ticket ." I have no idea what this means either. OMG I feel so overwhelmed with this trip! I would really appreciate if you guys could tell me where can I use this Sparpreis included city ticket, like, what is it for? I don't wanna miss any discounts. AND CHF 244 ($266) for 5 people? That price doesn't make sense to me on a trip from Germany to Switzerland. Everywhere I look it's $600+. Thank you guys!

Very helpful video guys. much appreciated. Keep up the good work. Do you or anyone in this forum know whether places below are open anytime between 30th Nov to 10th Dec 2022? The reason i am asking this is the top of europe pass website the pass is valid only until 30th Nov so thats why wanted to check. thanks. 1) Grindelwald First 2) Harder Kulm 3) Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe

Thank you for the valuable information. If I have a Travel Pass card, do I have to book a ticket in advance for the train, or go to the station and take any train available to the destination I want without reservation?
