Swinley Forest MTB trails - Are they good for group rides?

Today was the day the Forty something MTB riders got together at Swinley forest near Bracknell, just off the M3 to the west of London. We wanted to have a venue that would suit many different levels of rider for our FSRMTB FaceBook group ride but was Swinley forest up to the job? YES was the answer!
The venue has a maze of green, blue and red trails with many "off-piste" additions that are not for the faint hearted and require a high level of MTB skill. There's also the Swinley bike hub, who offer bike hire + coaching and the cafe for coffee & cakes! Parking is substantial but be warned, it's very popular and it gets busy fast, so get there early! Parking can be paid via good old cash and the PayByPhone app, which cost me £6 for the whole day or you can do 1 hour increments.
FSRMTB group is a mega friendly FaceBook group, set up by my good buddy Yann (@FortySomethingRider ) and I to try and bring mountain bikers of a certain age (40 and above!) together, to open up the sport, enhance the passion/excitement and mental health healing properties that mountain biking can offer.

Great to finally meet up with you, Yann and Richard. 👍🏻 If I’d realised the rear facing camera was on I’d have made a bit more effort to tailgate you down those trails 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks Ali, yes the trails are great and cater for all levels but I am particularly fond of Baby maker and Berminator😜🤘

Hi. Thanks for the video. Looking for recommendations for UK bike trails that also have good walks (or other entertainment) for a pedestrian with a small dog please.

Thanks for watching 👍. For great places to ride and walk I’d recommend Cwmcarn in South Wales, Gwydyr Forest in North Wales and the Forest of Dean north of Bristol. Hope this helps 👍
