Legacy menasor had a cheat code because motor master’s trailer actually becomes an armor for motor master and the limb bots just simply attach to the arms and legs of motor master’s trailer armor

Lots of companies already made a Devastator with minimal parts forming but the results were either limited articulation, stability issues or overly complicated transformation. Newage steps in to solve those by creating a solid Devastaor body where the 6 bots can connect to securely resulting in a very stable combined form, toon accurate, great articulation, simple to transform and a good looking robot. Always good to have options. Theres always a trade off somewhere but I like their decision to go this route and cant wait to complete this set and display him with the rest of my legends. He would look awesome on my shelf.

I normally love Mini Transformers, but needing a separate piece to get 70% of the body for Devastator ruins a lot of it for me. I could understand the head, arms, and chest piece, but the rest?

Agreed. The individual pieces are amazing, and the combined Devastator is equally impressive (the leg connections are A LOT better than the original)...but it's seriously cheating and a let down in my book to have that 70% non-transforming part.

You know them having all the combined parts separate is pretty old school...but it kind of defeats the purpose. I guess that's the sacrifice for having such otherwise superlative mini figures.

Not gonna lie that's a super g1 accurate cartoon representation of devastator even with the separate torso part forming its still pretty neat

The small robots and vehicles are AMAZING. Too bad they didn't think of something for Devastator's main body... It's just sad to have a mutilated Devastator when all get separated and... pretend it's just not there?

Is say what you will about combiner wars devastator, BUT AT LEAST HE ACTUALLY COMBINES.

Although I absalutely hate it when a combiner uses a seperate body like this, the little bots have pretty amazing transformations for their size.

You know people call Hasbro Lazy & such. But I think this is just as plain, I wanted these but after looking on how they form. I think I am going to skip the combined body form. Zeta toys did that & That is what turned me off of Zeta completely. I thinK I will save like $70 & just buy them for constructicons & Not devastator. Dx9 Did a better job with war in pocket devy Even the G1 devastator was not like this used a different combiner body . Yeah that is a totally turn off. I just want them for the bots not devy.

This figure looks so awesome, but UW-04 is still my favorite Devastator.

after owning magic square bruticus, i would give this some leeway now. if you want to really be mad, see the Iron factory for Liokaiser i cannot defend that one specifically since the bots alone already partsform for the most part

The original G1 toy had parts forming too. I just look at this as a more premium version of that original Devy G1 toy.

No no no! Why is Devastator one of the coolest Transformers toys ever? Because the Constructicons combined to form him from their own bodies with a few additional parts. On this the Constructicons themselves are the few additional parts. Just plain wrong. Engineering in the individual bots is good though.

To be fair said toy was also worst case of showing as much parts into toys that shows no sign of ever being intended to combine till you get a robot, only 2 had some resemblance of being intended to combine, so the comparation here is quite unfair, even if that here is a mockery of combiner toys

I hope NA does Sideswipe soon. It’s got to be one of their best, though. Thin, angular, on par with their Starscream, or like MP12+ with a much narrower chest.

@@NexusProductions-rz1sv have you looked at the combine piece for MS it doesn't have a chest that you just fill the bots into, the legs don't look like he skipped a day at the gym either. Newage you could potentially skip buying 2 bots and the combined mode wouldn't look different with MS it matters.

Devastador is cool

The only downside is the seperate body and little less taller than Megatron but saved those light-up features. Really cool.

@@NexusProductions-rz1sv nope, MS Devy has pelvis/upper legs and forearms. Long Haul, Hook, Scavenger and Bonecrusher actually combine with each other. Scrapper and Mixmaster attach to the upper legs. So not the same at all.

People have to speak with their wallets for that to happen. I’ll see what it’s like in hand before I fully judge it. But I expect it to be aesthetically pleasing, stable, articulate well, and able to produce 6 good looking individual bots. I think it will do all of that. But that’s just what’s matters to me and what I deem valuable. Totally fine for people to not feel the same way. I do however think it’s too expensive. Also, I don’t think it’s perfect; still things I wish they had done better.

this set is so disappointing, as stand alone figure, each one is great, cant fault them for that, but as a combiner, it all just attaches onto a frame, there's pretty much no combining

so i chose MS than newage, even the newage character design is way better than MS, but i can't stand the fake combination.

Someone finally made a Longhaul with a functioning dump bed!

Cant wait for upscaled KO at cheaper price.

At least it's one piece of kibble I have to keep track of.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to pick this set up. But is it just me or are we looking at roughly $300 all in? That's in the ballpark of an MPscaled combiner. That's nuts.

This is the best looking Devastator ever. I’m awaiting the toy deco but I’m afraid I’ll regret not getting this version. Not buying both, though.

This is a pretty amazing set, the individual figures is where it really shines IMO… the only thing I dislike is the visor for Devastator is inaccurate to the screen representation in the series.

Look, I get it. Making a fully combining, g1 accurate devastate is hard, if even possible. But having the main bulk of your combiner just be a robot with spots that the actual combiners fit into is just lame. Like Menasor. Especially the third-party figures where if you have the trailer to Motormaster you basically have an anemic looking menasor. You just plug in all the robots onto the bigger robot and call it a combination.

At least Menasor had this body become something rather than just laying there, and trailer. Having Motormaster be only cab at least let's him be in scale without having alt mode that isn't in scale, and trailer still needed to be there

Honestly, I don’t care about the combiner skeleton when the individual robots are perfect. Doing it this way means no compromises needed to be made to the constructicons. If you want a legends devastator that doesn’t do this, go with magic square, but the individual figures won’t be as good.

For me, having a skeleton to attach to is just cheating. Like takes away much of the fun.
