    A few people have suggested that the seat cushions could be the other way up - I can't do that because some of the cushions have hard backs meant for the travel seat bases.

    Oh, how I chuckled. If you have guests over and have an early day trip organised, you'll need to go to start going to bed at 8 pm and get up at 5:30 am. to allow for all the cushion shuffles. I also liked the mods section at the start. I'll definitely get the firestick gizmo using your amazon link. 👍🖖🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥂

    Hello Bob and Jenny, thanks for the video guide to the giant bed jigsaw puzzle. We have the Voyager 540 and if we ever need to make up the bed we now know what to do. Same goes for the travel seats. Hope you enjoy the Scottish tour. We visited Arran a couple of years ago (without motorhome) and loved it. The Lochranza distillery is worth a quick visit they have a nice shop with all things whisky to buy. There is another distillery at the other end of the island can’t remember its name. The drive from Lochranza over the top of the island to Brodick is spectacular, so is the coast road. We also went to Machrie Moor, lovely walk and several sets of stone circles to see. Brodick Castle is National Trust I think, there is also Arran Brewery nearby and you can also try out the approach walk leading to the Goatfell hike. It doesn’t get difficult for the first couple of miles. All within easy reach of Brodick Castle. Looking forward to seeing how it goes on your tour, Bon Voyager! Have a great time, Sue and Siobhan

    Bob , I'm sorry but I don't know where else I can ask you this. We've just bought a motor home, 1st timers. Always had caravans before. Long story short, do you have a tracker on your motor home and if so which one? We are being told by our insurance broker that it's difficult to get reasonable insurance costs if we haven't got a tracker. We've been going around in circles and are trying to keep the costs down by not having one fitted for now as it does have an immobiliser fitted. Does it really need a tracker? Sorry, if we've asked out of turn and apologise in advance if we've stepped out of line asking you on here. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • @BobEarnshawMoHo

    @BobEarnshawMoHo

    2 ай бұрын

    Our last three Swift have come with Swift Tracker. It sends an alert to a monitoring centre if the motorhome is moved with the engine off. Enables you and the police to track it's location. It's the reason @Motorhomemiles had their stolen motorhome located. Lots of alarm companies use trackers with their alarms, although I haven't tried those - companies like Vodafone, Vanbitz, Growler, and Outsmartthethief. As for costs you have to weigh that against the inconvenience of losing your motorhome and additional insurance.

    I was exhausted watching that (poor Bob) no idea why manufacturers make them like that, suppose if you work in ikea then it’s alright as you would be used to that but seems far too complicated especially if your a family of 4 and only stopping one night. Just tell people to bring their own car and tent. 😊

    Surely the seat cushions should move into the centre and the back cushions go to the edges? Then those metal studs wouldn’t be anywhere near the table & wont scratch.

  • @BobEarnshawMoHo

    Maybe, but the seat cushions have studs as well.

    @@BobEarnshawMoHo I think it is a shame the over-cab beds went out of fashion. Great use of space and a semi-permenant bed that is alsonicely out the way and doesn't add to extra length of the van (I use it as my main bed on my Autotrail)

    I usually think you know what you’re doing with motor homes but how to make something reasonably easy look hard 🤦‍♀️ as you said top tip lift the cushions first. The cushions that are normally the back rest are shaped to fit in to that big gap you mentioned that is there under the wooden back rest so basically the cushions just slide down from their normal position. Tons of videos on line on how to do it. Now about to watch rest of video with the travel seats 🫣 may have to message again 🤗

    You clearly don't get our humour then. We didn't find the instructions until a viewer pointed out the instructions for the bed were in the Technical handbook not the user manual. We certainly didn't find any instructional videos online, or perhaps we would have done a boring, perfect video! Besides, who makes the front beds up regularly.

I have to say, that must have taken Swift several prototypes to get it right. Definitely worth having both the bed and the travel seats even if they are just used for special occasions. 👍🏻🚐💙 Trev
