    Benny, I watched Dave's videos also. It sounded to me that he was burned out & got tired of maneuvering that big semi all over the place. I always do my best to give you truckers as much space as you need & I realize that it's not easy driving into areas that you might not be familiar with & especially with such a large rig. Keep up the good content, Benny!

    Your videos bring back memories. Did a paper mill run from Rome, GA to the NC/VA line after dropping off a very small load at Kimberly-Clark in Mobile during my 2-week road training with Schneider back in 2010. My trainer was great, but he got pretty agitated when Schneider had us driving around to various towns looking for an empty and they were either still loaded or not there. We eventually ran out of hours and had to shut down. Trainer said Schneider was over-hiring for business they didn't have it and there weren't enough loads for everyone. Needless to say I baled on Schneider. Curious to know if new Swift drivers get automatics like yours. How is Swift about idling your truck for A/C while sleeping or is there an APU on board for that? Unless things have changed, Schneider provides 10-speed Freightliners and idling for comfort is greatly frowned upon.

  • @raytruck5799

    @raytruck5799

    2 жыл бұрын

    That has more to do with the location of your 5th wheel and tandems. Also, if a trlr is loaded behind the tandems, that will also increase the teeter tottering. In high winds you want the tandems as far back as you can legally slide them.

  • @bennydrives

    @bennydrives

    2 жыл бұрын

    They don’t come with APU’s (something about cost and whatever) They do have a opti feature for the summer in most trucks. Basically you set your preferred temperature in the sleeper and the truck idle to meet that temp and shut off and once it gets to far above that temp it’ll turn back on and so forth. For winter they have bunk heaters. Same deal but it doesn’t involve idling the truck

    You should have applied for a federal grant at your local unemployment office. Use that grant at your local trucking school. This grant is free and you don't pay it back. It cost me $53 to get my cdl and not have to be held back by a mega carrier.

    They’re willing to invest in anyone to become a truck driver. Sometimes the trainer does their job sometimes they don’t. I had a great trainer. As a result I’ve been a great driver for them. The more drivers you have the more likely accidents are to happen that’s just statistics. I could go on.

    BECARFULL FOR NEW DRIVERS The school was Ok, the mentor was good, but after the graduation, they promise for inexperience driver at least 1000 per week, but if they complete 5 days of work and gets what, the dispatchers are sure the drivers get stock with no trailer, wrong directions, no answer the phone, anyway they do everything for doesn't give you the 5 days driving and the inexperience drivers get paid no more than 400 a week which means you have to sleep in the truck for 2 o 3 days with no paid, no decent conditions for less than 400. is been 2 weeks and it's been the same situation week after week. That's the way Swiff transportation makes money?
