    I have bought my first sweetgrass braid today and smudged and prayed for my stepfather to have a smooth transition. When we called the hospital they said he was much better! 😃💖 Sweetgrass has a beautiful scent. I combined it with a sage stick. Thanks for sharing your precious wisdom. The world needs it desperately, as dark forces try to completely eradicate spirituality from our planet. Blessings to you and your people.

    If your medicines have a difficult time burning, you can give a gentle breathe (with your lips close together) inside the bowl to enhance the smoke. Don't inhale it though. :) It's a wooden match to light because it's natural, -and your own breathe to help the amount of smoke. If cleansing a home, stand in each direction of the room and have the smoke sweep into that direction. You can use a feather or your breathe, but be sure to use a gentle breathe so you don't blow out any embers, as that is definitely a fire hazard. Maybe practice outside, until you learn how to do a gentle breathe first. ;)

    Tribal Trade Co I have adapted many traditions from pagan, Native American, and hoodoo so it’s a mix of many things. I have an ancestral altar, a windowsill where I give offerings to my deities in pretty bowls and dishes I’ve found over the years, a hand made wooden table gifted to my parents and now gifted to me where I place my favorite crystals, seashells, and other items that feel sacred to me. Every single item in my room has a story and that’s what I love most :) and, of course, I have several plants to bring extra life to the room. Many blessings and I look forward to all your videos!

  • @gypsywolf2061

    @gypsywolf2061

    3 жыл бұрын

    blairaaa sure! You can do that :) there is no right or wrong way to hang it. The biggest thing I’ve learned in my 20+ years of practicing is to not think about things too much. Trusting your instincts and doing what feels right is where the true magic lies. I simply put mine where I had room because I have all my other things hanging in my witchy room. It felt right to hang it above the pics of my ancestors, which I have clipped on a string hanging on my window with clothes pins. I didn’t have anywhere else to put it so I got creative. Put it on a wall, windowsill, the top of a cabinet, whatever u want! Many blessings 😘

    Wow, I went to stock up on sage the other day and found sweet grass and bought that also. So glad I came across this video about it. Is there a proper way to hang it? Can you use one strand to burn in your bowl and hang the rest?

    Hello there! I was gifted Sweetgrass. I light it with matches and I wear cotton clothes and no jewellery, etc. I never used it while in menstruation and after I cleansed myself and the surroundings, I’d offer tobacco a d candy to the Spirit Guides and go to my nearest park and burry the offerings in the Earth beside some trees. I keep my braided Sweetgrass stored above my wardrobe when I’m not using it, if that makes sense. Where is the best place to manifest more if I require it? Peace and hugs. XoXo 💕💕

    You said let the bowl of medicine burn out on its own, but if you are using a sage smudge stick and want to incorporate sweet grass with it how would you let the smudge stick burn out on its own? Does it eventually snuff itself out? Do you walk around with it or sit in one spot and it effect the whole house? I have never smudged and am trying to learn. Sorry for so many questions. Thank you for your videos they are beautiful and warming. 💚🙏

    Hi Desirae! Great question. You can do whatever you feel - walk around the house or even your property, or just let is burn out within safe vision while you're relaxing or doing another task. When you light the medicine, blow out the flame so it's no longer present and there is just smoke. It shouldn't take too long to go out. Good luck!

    I had a eucalyptus tree by our property. during rainy season, noticed its good sinus benefits for my kids, so rest of yr boil leaves. Trees were removed. now when I come upon one, I pick a few leaves & save til I feel my house needs a freshening smudge. Our group gathers white sage. Not altogether sure if I picked right cedar. it smelled weird & gave me a very bad headache. All Ashes go into our garden.

    Hi I am from the Philippines but due to almost 400 years of colonization back from 15th century I have no attachment to spirituality at all, that’s why I’m trying to glue back the pieces together. Is it okay to use sweet grass even though I’m not a native american? If not. I would wholeheartedly understand, if I can what can I do to use it without being insensitive to anyone? Thanks

    Hi Vladix, as long as you have good intentions for using the sacred medicine that's completely okay. You can also start doing some research about the sacred medicine and their intended purpose in order to have a deeper understanding on what they are used for.

  • @MalloryRoseCo

    You don't have to, for me - it always depends on a few factors... 1 - how cold it is outside, 2 - how much smoke the smudge produces, 3 - who is with me, 4 - if the room is large or small :) I hope this helps!

    Sweetgrass is a tough one to keep lit at times. Try lighting it from a candle, or make a little pile of strands to light with a match in your smudge shell or bowl.

    She stated in the video that our Ancestors used the Sweetgrass. We all know by now that it’s an African tradition that we still practice here in Charleston SC. Maybe she means Ancestors as in “humankind”🤷🏾‍♀️.
