I had a 1965 B 615 with the END 864 V8 !! the truck had a 15 speed tranny with tandem rear end. May this truck had the END 864 Turbo version, kind of looks like the 864 .. This engine was 864 cubic inch by the way.

Those older v8s sound so much like a E9 mixed with a power stroke. I wonder if these had a Jake brake on them being from the 60s

Jacobs didn't make a brake for any Mack V-8. Mack's Dynatard is the engine brake they have, if so equipped.

@@gregh.7977 does it operate similar?

@@Darth-Nihilus1 The theory is the same. The Dynatard doesn't use a "head" as in a Jake head. The Dynatard is a special rocker arm assembly with the brake contained in it. Therefore the unit is low profile like standard rockers (no need for spacers) and much lighter than a Jake Brake.

its the early V8 around 720ci from the late sixties earl seventies not the 998 ci E9 the E9 will not fit in any truck except a SUPERLINER 713 or CL 700 the frames are spread wider at the front end to fit the E9 engines those early mack V8 engines were even in B- 81s to DM 800s , the early V8 did not hold up as good as the E9 series of the late eighties ,nineties and early 2000s collectors love those early V8s for the B models they are rare it did sound similar to a E9 with those strait pipes
