Swedish Word order (Ordföljd) - Part 1
Learn the very basics of Swedish word order (ordföljd). Swedish word order keeps the verb in the second place, in the huvudsats (main sentence).
However, it sometimes does not look like it due to bisats (second sentence or auxiliary sentence). Learn the difference between huvudsats and bisats. And start making sentences with correct grammatical order in Swedish.

So happy you feel that way!! If you ever want to join our Swedish courses here is the link. elansutbildning.com/courses/
Thank you for this lesson. The word order is pretty much the same as in Dutch but sometimes i'm overthinking it and place the words in the English way which i shouldn't do. I'm still a basic learner but i could perfectly follow this lesson. Maybe some day i will really manage to learn swedish😅 tack for the fun lessons. Bra jobb!

Would it be possible for you to do a video on “ja” versus “jo”? I never know when to use which one!

Yes! Great idea. Will start brainstorming that video ;)

Jo used with negative questions, like , don’t you go to school? You use jo or nej not ja
@mehwishaslam3320
Жыл бұрын
@justin ashley when you answer “yes” to a negative question in swedish, you use “jo” For example: köpte han inte bilen?( didn’t he buy a car)? Jo, det gjorde han(yes, he did)
There's an outdated order use for the verb "have" in English, which is similar to that of swedish. Have you the time?

Haha, that is great! I recognize that feeling. The more languages you study the better you become , even in your own language!
Thanks a lot for the lesson! ♥ I have a small question about something I've heard while watching Young Royals I've heard some people there sometimes saying "Tja" as "Hey" Would you mind explain a little about it? Wondering if it's a word as it is, a shortcut or just a slang word

You are welcome! Glad you like it! Yes, that is correct. Tja is another way of saying "hi". We talk about it in this old video. Hope it helps :) kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z6uJuq6QndTJg8o.html&ab_channel=FunSwedish

Jag e så glad du är på youtube! jag älskar din kanal även som infödd Svensk. Men jag älskar också din personlighet så mycket! du lära i en lättförståelig stil och grattis på din framgång! Också för människor som inte vet ”e” är ett sätt att säg ”är”. Iblander det kan låter som ”eer” i verbal kommunikation. Kärlek från Jönköping
Tack mycket

Varsågod :)
I’m finding this the most difficult 😂 word order
It isn't weird. It's basically the same as in German. The only trouble is that I don't think in German anymore...😉👍👏

That is true! German speakers have it "easy" in that way 😊. Lots of similarities.

@@FunSwedish It's not the same in German... In German we would say "När jag hemma är" (Wenn ich zu Hause bin), because in German the verb always comes last in subordinate clauses. "Ich esse Tacos immer freitags, wenn ich zu Hause bin."

@@wingedhussar1117 Agreed, I learned German first and it actually helps trip me up with Swedish word order at times. In some cases they do work very similarly, except when they don't!
Love
Pausing the video to try making a sentence before watching the rest! Here is my try: På fredagar, äter jag alltid tacos när jag är hemma. The trickiest part for me is figuring out where to put “alltid.” I’m not sure if it should be 1) “äter jag alltid” or 2) “äter alltid jag.” Number 2 just didn’t sound right so I went with number 1. I hope I’m right!
@FunSwedish
Жыл бұрын
Well done! That is a perfect Swedish sentence. However, you can skip the "," in between på fredagar - äter. Just write " På fredagar äter jag alltid tacos när jag är hemma".
1. Jag äter alltid tacos när jag är hemma på fredagar. Is this correct? 2. In the second one, äter jag alltid, can it be äter alltid jag?
@FunSwedish
Жыл бұрын
Yes! The first one is perfect. Well done! Yes, you can say both in the second one.
❤❤
Paused and answered :När jag är hemma jag äter alltid tacos på fredagar. Är det korrekt?
@FunSwedish
Жыл бұрын
Almost! "När jag är hemma - äter - jag - alltid - tacos - på fredagar" But well done for trying! Det var nästan perfekt!
Annat alternativ: Tacos äter jag alltid när jag är hemma på fredagar😊😊
how are you my dear teacher
Taco.
