What grain are you looking for and with or without gas check?

@@MidwesternFC idealy without gas check, in 196 grains but some original round tip bullet were 226 grains.

I have one and suggest you slug the bore or better yet, do a chamber cast. Mine has a groove diameter of 0.326" and a bore diameter of 0.316" and a throat length of 0 618".

I have been looking for this in the Czech Republic, either military or sporterised one, but all I could find are obsolete black powder, large bore ones of various origins or converted to be a shotgun. The Swedish one you got has many updates including ejector and extra screws that stop pins from coming loose and so on. Very pretty.

It was a very nice example I agree. But I exchange it for a krag 1889/24 carbine (that you Can also see on my channel). Regarding the Rolling block, here you Can find it pretty easly for 800€ in nice conditions. If there is no regulation in Czech republic you can try and order one here ! I'll be happy to help

the "B" mark is probably "Befälsvapen" (weapon used for officers training) cit. book "The Swedish Mauser Rifles" - S.Kehaya and J.Poyer - North Cape Pub.

Nice video! C under crown mark shows that the rifle was made at the royal armory of Carl Gustaf Stad in the city of Eskilstuna. A rifle made by Husqvarna, has an «H» at the right side.

@@thefrenchgunsmith6488 And BTW, the m/1867 was approved at the same time for both the Swedish and the Norwegian armed forces, as a result of a joint commission. The two kingdoms formed an union 1814-1905. The armies never changed the RF to CF, but civilian shooters did.

The side, long range sight is for volley firing at Artillery, not individual firing, much the same as the Long Lee Enfield rifles the British were using around the same time.

That is true ! Battle techniques were very different back then, war was so much different...

Awesome rifle. I've been wanting one of these for a bit, but I'm still undecided if I want to go for the 8x58r or the big bore black powder.

I've seen both in person, the 8x58r are in my opinion better made than the ones in 12.17x44. But both are awesome and pretty rare firearms !

@@thefrenchgunsmith6488 I've been following a web store here in the US that has been importing them and posting them sporadically. I was looking for one in fair-good overall condition with a decent bore for a good price. And was a matter of which they posted first, 8x58 or 12.17x44. Well, I ended up pulling the trigger on a 12.17x44 that checks all my boxes (and is center fire) yesterday. Super excited to get it soon

@@thefrenchgunsmith6488 You have really great content! I've watched some of your videos and I just wondered how you could buy the M38 Carcano with just 14 Years because it's in C Category as far as I know. So I thought maybe you're from the US. Was it in the past in the D Category?

@@heavengameful That's very nice of you ! Where are you from ? Here in France being able to own firearms is VERY regulated except for the D category. But when you are allowed to legally buy a gun, your age does not matter if your parents agree and if you have all the documents and legal papers (which of course I have !)

@@thefrenchgunsmith6488 I am from Germany. I was last summer in Strasbourg, I really liked it there and I want to visit France soon again! Thats very intresting to know, here in Germany you can only have a permit at an age of 25, except hunters (18 years). You are really lucky that you have the D category. It covers a lot of intresting rifles
