Swayambhu Stupa Nepal | Swayambhunath Stupa
Swayambhunath is one of the holiest pilgrimage centres in the Kathmandu valley equally venerable for the Buddhists as well as the Hindus. The cultural as well as the natural heritages of this hill are very important and valuable not only to the people of Nepal, India, Bhutan, China but also to all the peace loving people of the world.
Beautiful view of this Swayambhu hill can be observed from almost all parts of Kathmandu Valley and the entire Kathmandu Valley can be seen from the eastern side of the Swayambhu hilltop.

Full story is like this, Kathmandu Valley was once full lake surrounded by four hills, In satya yuga, a sage called bipaswi buddha came to chandragiri hills for penance. He threw some lotus seeds in water. Next day a huge lotus blossomed with flower lying on swoembhu stupa, and roots in the guheswori temple, behind pashupatnath. And he got divine view of swoembhu. Saying that this placs ia suitable for inhabitant, he went away. In treta yug, Mahamanjushri bodhisatwa that lives in seven hills of china came here with speed of wind. He cut the hill between chandra giri and nagarjun, placing his two wives(shakti) mokshada and barada on opposite hill, with his sword letting water to drain from valley. He inhabitant Nyarva people from swoembhu to guheswori calling the city manjupatan and madd one of his disciple dharmakar the king. The lotus is said to be still hidden inside the stupa and root in guheswori temple.
