Squid's Choice is a division of Itoya of America, which is a subsidiary of Itoya of Japan. They are a major manufacturer of office and art supplies, and I have been using their Profolio line for 30 years. I just got a delivery from them, with a bottle of Teranishi Guitar Brand Taisho Roman Haikara Modern Red and a bottle of Antique Black. They do indeed ship from the Los Angeles area.

Beautiful swatches, fun to compare them side by side. I had so much fun cleaning my pen and trying a couple of different inks over the holidays. I loved a forest green ink I tried but ended up changing it out for a Colorverse Ink called One Step...it's a fun pale brown 😄from their Apollo 11 set. Thanks for sharing!

That Kobe Ink says Go shiki yama Ookuru - which is Mount Goshiki Ochre. Kobe inks' names come from locations throughout Japan and are named so after those city/locations and the things you find in those areas. Lovely inks! I have like 3-4 kobe ink samples and I'm using one right now, they are just absolutely lovely. Is your Goshikiyama Ochre ink a dry ink like Rouille D'ancre? It's very pretty!

I’m actually going to try not to buy new inks in 2023. It’s not a rule, but it helped putting all my bottles in one place. I have more than enough beautiful inks and if I see something amazing I will try to get a sample only. I’d like to get through my random and gifted samples (ones I didn’t specifically choose) and then go back to using my bottles.

Kobe INK Monogatari is an ink brand manufactured by Sailor for Japanese pen retailer Nagasawa. The first color you have there is #54 Goshikiyama Ochre. I didn't quite catch the second one.

This color is so hard to remember- I have to look it up every single time I refer to it! I wish the color was printed on the bottle... that kind of drives me nuts.
