(10x32) And once again, just now, and it's always with the same smile, lol !... Just like with these NL's, always the same pleasure, the same smile, while using them every day !! Thank you Andraž, you are good at transmitting your enthusiasm 😉

Thank you for this very informative test. I am a wildlife photographer and a polar guide in Svalbard and Antarctica. Binoculars are my first tool for looking for bears on the ice... in particular. I have old Swaro 8x30 SLCs which still work great but I want to invest in a newer 10x42 pair and the NL Pure look great ! However, I have read on some forums that these binoculars posed two major problems: 1/ condensation on the eyes piece lenses especially in cold conditions (much much more than other best binoculars). This would be due to the abandonment of the treatment of glasses (SvaroClean) which would contain composant harmful to the environment. 2/ Glare problems in bright light conditions (snow, water, reflections...) which would be due to the fact that the inside of the frame is not black over the entire body of the binoculars (unlike the Leica Noctivid ). Do you have an opinion on these two points which are essential for me given my use (use on the sea, in the Arctic > snow, ice, water, strong contrast and negative temperatures). thanks guys :)

But keep in mind that the el's that you buy no are nog the same as the ones you could buy before 2020... they altered the focus mechanism so that the closest point of focus is now 3.3 meters instead of 1.5... Because of the alteration they could lower the price of the el's... Smart move?! I don't know... 🤔

  • @opticstrade7399

Yes, the reason that Swarovski included so many eyecup positions is that everyone can set the optimal eye-relief for their need. If I pull the eyecups all the way out, the image is a bit blurry at the sides, so I prefer having them in the second-to-last setting.

Although my comment doesn't relate to the NLs, I'd just like to point out that although Swarovski have reduced the price of the old ELs, they have increased the close focus distance of those binoculars. My 10x42 EL SVs focus down 1.3m, or even a little closer, but the close focus distance of that model has now been changed to 3.3m. I've taken that information from the Swarovski website. For many people, that will make the older model less attractive. Otherwise, thank you for a good review.

10x power is the way to go with the NL. There’s almost a 400ft field of view which is more than most 8x binos. With that FOV with the head rest accessory it’s the most stable 10x on the market today (non-image stabilized binos) Almost as good of most 8x.

But it is really embarrassing to not realize that this new focuser is obviously a copy of the Zeiss SF Victory, which have the same light transmission (92% Zeiss SF vs 91% Swaro NL), a better minimum close focus range (1,5 m vs 3.3 m) for a 120 m f.o.v, are lighter (-50 g) and have this unique and incredible Ergobalance you acknowledge in the review you made. Too bad if you had just bought a pair of EL's. Also, I find the quality control of the newer Swarovski binoculars (EL) not up to scratch. Eye pieces stick/jam in almost from the first day. Also the glue holding on the rubber covers on the eye rings deteriorates very quickly allowing the rubber eye covers to come off when taking off the rain guard. The rainguard is a very stiff, strong rubber cover that strongly grips the eye covers and pulls them off. Another issue with the EL's are the press in rubber covers at the exit end. Again, they are very tight and very firm to press in and pull out, They are attached by a flimsy piece of light rubber to a metal rod permanently attached to the binoculars. The flimsy rubber has torn away twice now within 12 months. I have had to request new eye rings, also the old style exit covers and the old style rain guard from Swarovski. Very disappointing for such a highly priced binocular. Looks like Swarovski are going the way of Zeiss who quality control has been an issue for some time.

I don't have the Field Pro, only the older El model. I agree with the rubber on eyepieces coming off -bizarrely badly thought out. Mine (10x50) experienced mild sticktion out of the box. 3 years on and the rubber armour is coming loose off the body. I sensed the Field Pro was just the emperor's new clothes, so am glad but still mildly disappointed with the 'biodegradable armour' which had I been aware of then would definitely have put me right off.

These could have been the perfect binoculars on the market if they wouldn't have wasted the opportunity to make them compatible with the best tripod adapter on the market: Their own SLC-TA for the SLC series. Sounds highly unlikely.. European Swarovski service has a rumour of being state of the art..! Even their very old binoculars are often serviced and updated for free ...

And remember folks, the glass in the NL is exactly the same as the glass in the EL, as it is in leicas noctivid and Zeiss SF, none of the big three actually manufacture glass they all buy from a third party manufacturer Schott ,and none manufacture their magnesium body or rubber armour or eyecups , they all use what they call "globally sourced parts" and 99 % of the assembly is done in china and the finishing is done in europe, the build quality of modern optics is terrible , but they all have obsolescence built in, there designed to fail , whereas quality optics used to be designed to last a lifetime or at the very least 40 years of hard use ,we now live in the i phone era, where your expected to upgrade every few years as binocular fashion morphs and changes on an annual basis

BS. Swarovski binoculars are made entirely in Austria and Swarovski makes its own glass.

@@MatthewC137 nonsense Swaro has never made their own glass , they use Schott HD which is produced in one of the schott facilities in SE Asia , as is the terrible rubber armour and magnesium body , they are only assembled in Austria 🇦🇹

@@jasonhiggins6431 They source the best glass available in the world and grind it and coat it in Austria. Swarovski, Zeiss, and Leica each end up with very different glass because of their unique specifications and coatings. Your eyes don't work very well if you can't see the difference between the NL and EL. Whether the glass itself is the same or not, the end result is not. The NL is clearly superior. I think your problem with the armour is that it's wrapped around a product you cannot afford.

MOST OVERHYPED! I don’t expect this from Swarovski. These binoculars have wider field of view because they have less eye relief. It is physics not magic. Swarovski always overstates their eye relief by 3mm. But these binoculars are so expensive and don’t have swaro vision. Instead they have gimmicky plastic pieces and price is 3k. BS!
