My child also participated in pageants. Look how much this child enjoyed what she was doing and all the wonderful memories she has of time spent with her mother doing what they enjoyed. My child is now a beautiful 20 year old girl in her 2nd year of college. Pageants gave her confidence and we still talk about how much fun we had just the 2 of us traveling all over the country. The trophies and crowns might be tarnished and dusty but we still have our memories. God bless Swan's mother.

There is nothing wrong with having children in pageants. As long as they don't become obsessed with it and all the make up,clothing, hair etc.. whats the problem? I think it's cute and harmless. I wish my parents would've put me in pageants when I was younger. We have this documentary on VHS and I used to watch it all the time when it aired on Tv. You can tell that Swan enjoyed herself and had fun when she was performing.

oh well i dunno really. But I was watching something yesterday- 'baby beauty pageants', a program about the first child beauty pageant in the uk- and 2 out of the 3 kids were rich basically to buy all the stuff for it. The third kid was really poor so she had to borrow her dress from a local shop.

actually hardly any beauty pagean families live in trailer parks. I'm not huge on them either but a lot of people who do beauty pageants are actually pretty well off. It's an expensive thing to do, so you need the money and desire i think.

This exploitation of children in the beauty pageant industry makes me feel ill. Let these poor little girls be children!!!!!!!!!! They only get one chance at childhood in their life, and their mothers take it away to fulfill their OWN dreams.
