About Sivananda Ashram and Viddo:
www.sivanandaba...
Of all the Upanishads (sacred Sanskrit texts), the Mandukya Karika is the shortest - consisting of just 12 sentences! - however, it is considered the most direct and the most powerful. Composed by Gaudapada Acharya 1,500 years ago, it is regarded as the highest text of nondual Vedanta. Its goal is nothing short of transcendence of sorrow and the attainment of unshakeable serenity by the direct intuition of your own nondual nature. From January 2020, Talk 6 of 6.
Swami Sarvapriyananda is the minister and spiritual leader of the Vedanta Society of New York. He joined the Ramakrishna Math and Mission in 1994, received sannyas ten years later, and served in the Hollywood Temple. He was the acharya of the monastic probationers’ training center at Belur Math, and also served as the vice principal of the Deoghar Vidyapith Higher Secondary School. He regularly gives retreats and spiritual talks throughout the United States.

He is considered guru too as being one who can eloquently articulate the ultimate reality for those who are embodied. Unfortunate for those embodied have to start from the unreal to the real. If only we can start from the real and see the falsity of the unreal can we continue our journey from the real to thay ultimate peace of which no words can describe. Hari Aum

This "darshan" has no parallel. Swamiji maharaj makes it so easy for us to grasp this profound "darshan". I find the law of this land criminal because they don't allow easy access to this profound knowledge to all of us citizens at the least. This universal knowledge is not allowed to be propagated under the absurdity of "secularism", a term foreign to our traditions. My dandavat pranaam to the Swami.

A wonderful delightful enlightened master delivering transcendence with such clarity, it's like looking through a clear crystal to yet another clear crystal. Swami Sarvapriyananada, and should I say Gurusji may your grace bring with it peace and joy to all that you come in contact with, touching and transforming their lives to bestow upon yourself great and continued bliss. I dearly lovingly pray for this. Your works bring great resonance to those who understand the depth of Vedanta to bring about the beauty and essence of Bhakti, love for God. I pray for all of the above before and after chanting Shankrachaya's Nirvana Shatakam and Bhaja Govindam. May your life continue to be Glorious. Hari Aum 🙏🙏🙏 Jai Jai Jai Shri RadhaKrishna

Thank you for a detailed exposition of the Madukya Upnishad. It lucidly introduces the difficult subject for a newcomer like me. Can Swamiji or any other person in the know of these things please clarify on the following: Anesthesia produce an effect that is decidedly different from deep sleep and where consciousness is lost for the period under which one remains anesthetized. Psychedelic drugs on the other hand, like mescaline or LSD produce an altered consciousness, if not a distorted one. Are such states of consciousness (or absence thereof) included in the analysis of the Mandukya Upnishad? Thank you.

Please comment on the experience of general anesthesia. When under it and waking up from it it does feel like one moment we were awake and the other moment we are awake again post op. Please revert this is my biggest hurdle that keeps me from accepting the vedantic thought. Please 🙏.
