"Cathedral Walls" is one of the most legendary masterpieces of Gothic Doom Metal, and the story of Aleah and Juha is the most heartbreaking tragedy I've ever heard of. Yes, death is everywhere and it's tragic every single time - but if you know the background of this catastrophe and if you are emotionally involved as I am, then it hits you even harder. All lyrics by Swallow the Sun go beyond words ever since Aleah was taken from us and they are scorching my soul every time I'm listening to their songs which mean the world to me. To call the newest album "Moonflowers" a funeral march or a ritual would be blatantly understated, but to swim in all this pain and melancholy while listening is among the most beautiful things I like to dive into during this material life. Aleah was also an oustanding artist, Lee - and I will be glad to request her work soon, as Juha himself worked on releasing all her/their songs after she passed away, to memorialize his beloved for eternity. This is a story of endless love and harrowing pain, and the melodies and verses reflect everything this wonderful musician and man had to go through.
