@@NikateeN Funny enough, the GameCube had better graphical capabilities than the PS2 or the XBox, thanks to the ATI processor. The problem was that the GameCube was more difficult to develop for than the other 2. But DoR proves just what a GC can do, graphically speaking.

@@TheFEARSlayer01 Just re-bought this game. Miles better then the 2Krap of today. As far as the PS games go, HCTP & SYM were the best & only games that were on non-Nintendo consoles worth re-playing. Such a shame they never continued the series or console exclusive wrestling games in general.

@@israel8278 honestly the Nintendo wrestling games were better than the smackdown games. No mercy > smackdown 2 DOR ? HCTP, I like the gameplay in DOR but roster was better in smackdown and more content DOR2 was more improved, but still wish the roster was as full and good as no mercy

The gamecube games were updated versions of the 64 aki games mechanically. Very underrated

Yes they were, but not as good. Made a few glaring mistakes, but they're ALL fantastic games. I don't think that I ever had as good a time with a game as WCW/nWo Revenge & WM2000, they gameplay there was unmatched. Had several 60 min matches Vs best mate!

I’m really impressed with Eric Bischoffs Character Model here! It looks exactly like him!!! Some of these models look better than the ones in the newer 2K games!

Damn these graphics are really impressive for the GameCube, it looks like an early Xbox 360 game.

It really does suck that we didn't get a Day of Reckoning 3. It would've been awesome. Unfortunately we didn't get that.

When ecw started I started writing a storyline for a potential DOR3 building up to your character getting caught up in a war against the brand but the more I lost interest in the brand the more I lost interest in finishing the story simple as that

The entrances in WMXIX, DoR and DoR2 had something that no other WWE games have had sense... accurate ramps and aisles. The length was still off for Wrestlemania XIX, but the fact that wrestlers followed the aisle and appeared to enter through the curtain instead of just materializing out of thin air like they do in the SvR and 2K games is a small detail that goes a long way in delivering realistic presentation.

Yes. There was even an arena in WM19 where the entrance area was offset from the ring, and the wrestler would walk out diagonally for a portion. I always thought this was very cool. I remember some wrestlers in the Smackdown series looking like they're coming from the left side of the stage instead of out of the curtain... Always kind of bothered me.

What about Raw 2?

Day of Reckoning 2 probably has the best story in any WWE season mode. The fact that it's a mystery that needs to be solved of a missing world title makes the story really interesting. I'm not gonna spoil who did it if you haven't played it, but it's really intriguing.

+TheReelHeel Agreed since you also get more choices. The first DoR's story was great too, but the only choice you got was whether you went to Smackdown! or RAW and both choices led to near-identical storylines.

TheReelHeel yeah some complain about the soap operish nature but they tried something different outside of the normal win the title story and that should be respected

I'll never forget I got this game for Christmas and it was the happiest day of my life lol my fav wrestling game of all time

I really miss the days when WWE used to have multi-platform games. It was just different when you played the games on a different console.

Awesome video I grew up playing ps2 and the SVR series games and smackdown but I played DOR1 on my buddies gamecube and it made me buy a gamecube just so I can experience these games cant believe I missed out on these great gamecube titles

I finished once in 29 secs after 39 attempts after a while i realize that regals running knee attack freezes the AI

Day of Reckoning 2 is one of my favorite wrestling games of all time. Sure it's not comparable to Smackdown games on the PS2. Especially Smackdown vs Raw 2006 because of the more options they offered, but this is still a great game. I've played this game countless times over the years and never have gotten bored of it. I'd sure as hell play this game over any WWE games now.

One thing I loved about the game that wasn't mention was their counter system. Different wrestlers had different types of counters. If someone had the cruiserweight counter they would reverse a powerbomb with a frankensteiner. A big guy would counter by powering out of it. A dirty wrestler would counter by spitting mist in his face and so on

GameCube has the best Kurt Angle's in video game history hands down...

The models and graphics were pretty good

My favorite wrestling game. I still have my 9 memory cards of created wrestlers from WCW, WWF, ECW, TNA, Japan and Indy guys From Hollywood Hogan to El Generico, Hiroshi Tanahashi to Eddy Guerrero. I have so many created wrestlers

The sound effects that were used the ring for the ring mat, turnbuckles and ropes in these games are probably the most suitable effects used for a wrestling game.

Came out my junior year in high school and I loved it

This game still remains as my favorite WWE game not just on the GameCube, but in general. Everything about it clicks with me. The gameplay engine being nearly identical to No Mercy but with added features like interrupting moves just makes it all the more better. The graphics are easily the best in any WWE game as 10+ years later, this is still the best looking WWE game ever in my opinion as everyone is spot on and the little details are just picture perfect. The story mode is fantastic, creation is top notch, music is badass, overall this game is such an underrated masterpiece and it definitely needs more attention. When ever the pyro makes the game slow down it looks so cool

Man I owned WM 19, WM 20, Day of reckoning and day of reckoning 2.. These games were my childhood.. Me and my cousin always used to play two player royal rumble and he was pretty gullible. So every time at the end after him and I were left standing id always say no no there's still one more guy and then I'd attack him out of nowhere and throw him out lol.. Every time. He never did beat me

I really enjoyed the story modes in both DoR games. You could tell legit effort was put into them ESPECIALLY the final line Ric Flair gives at the end of DoR 2's.

the models are amazing, even to this day

DOR2 is one of the all time greats!

I just started getting into this game and I have to say, it may be my favorite wrestling game that I’ve played yet! I think it’s because the engine allows for breaking up moves and a more sandbox style fighting system! I also love how they use the rumble feature here and the sounds just make it feel like you are beating the shit out of the other wrestler and vice versa!

This was probably one of the best and funniest wrestling games ever made (funny because of the fast animations), also had an amazing character and entrance creation.

Best wrestling game of the 6th generation.

Regarding not being able to spam harder hitting moves. Pro wrestling on the nes was the first game I remember to implement this. It wasn't necessarily stamina based but the enemy health condition based.

This has Great Graphics and Good Ring Physics.

Day of reckoning series, wrestlemania xix and svr 2006 are my top wrestling games of all time but people seem to forget games outside the svr, 2k and smackdown for playstation

Such an underrated game for it's time. Visually the best looking game and playability had the best controls. Though lots missing, backstage and lots of customizations. Love this game.

Now I want a gamecube and I just bought a n64 lol gamecube was fun af. Only consoles I want right now are a ps2 and a gamecube.

Very nifty how this was released on Christmas Day with the opening theme turned into Jingle Bells. Never too late to give my props, I think.

This game look fun

Sidenote: you don't have to do a strong grapple first to steal an opponent's finisher.

Been playing HCTP and DOR2 lately and I think I like DOR2 more as far as gameplay goes. Both are awesome though and I wish the 2K games would be more influenced by them.

Not all 2k games are bad WWE 2k19 is really good and universe mode is very fun to play

I think one little detail that people tend to forget about these games on the GameCube is the referees for Smackdown! & Smackdown! PPVs, the Smackdown! referees are wearing the regular WWE referees shirts instead of the Smackdown! referees shirts.

A couple points to the vid I know I'm 5 years too late but still 1. The game cube games was the only wrestling game to let take Kurt angle take his singlet off before he does the ankle lock 2. Yo I use to dominate with angle speaking of him, against my friends 3. Still got my GC till this day this is one of the games I come back to lol

I will be buying this game soon . Alongside day of reckoning 1 and the wrestlemania series . Can’t wait !

My favorite out of the bunch.

No Wrestling game ever launched a tag team buried alive match. Fact Check it happened on Smackdown back in the Attitude era.

This is the last game to use the AKI wrestling engine that was first used on Nintendo 64 with great titles like no mercy in WCW thunder after this they all switched over to the smackdown vs raw wrestling engine. I think it's a shame because that's what gave Nintendo advantage because they use this engines for a lot of the wrestling games then they just sat there and start just using only the smackdown wrestling that's where wrestling kind of died on the Nintendo systems

I miss hearing Tony Chimel as an announcer.

Watching your wrestling videos man, makes me really sad and wish I would have cherished those moments more! I miss being a little kid just playing video games :( I still enjoy video games now but it’s just more nostalgic when I was a little kid no care in the world 😔

One of my personal favorites.

Most fun I had with a wrestling game other than the N64 era. DOR 2 was the last of a dying breed

I agree having only 4 divas really sucked but they looked really well designed. But i hated Stacy Keibler never had the spinning kick finisher!

This game is very underrated and so ahead of its time I'm a big fan of no mercy N64 until I played Day of Reckoning 2

I forgot how good the graphics looked then.

Fighting a Match, and never winning it because the Game is programmed to have you loose. Sounds like the almost complete Storymode of WWE '13

This one of my favorite wrestling games of all time. The graphics were groundbreaking at the time and the gameplay was so fun. I was never able to finish the game because my brother pawned his GameCube 😡😡😡. But I think I still own this game so I just gotta get another GameCube system
