@@user-zv9zc9bc2y look at the history of Scandinavia. Sweden and Denmark have fought over 20 wars since the 1400s. Sweden used to "own" both Norway and Finland. All the Scandinavian countries have fought wars against eachother, been part of treaties with eachother and even been part of the same country. They all share a lot of the same culture and most of the "hate" is all in good fun. Like play fighting between siblings. When it actually boils down to it I think all the scandinavian countries see the others as brothers, the fighting is just about who is the big brother (its sweden).

This song is satirical for those who don't understand, we three Scandic nations have a brotherly hate towards another but we're actually good friends and comes along with each other well

As a Swiss person, who feels deeply connected to the north, I walk up the mountain everyday, just so I can pretend to look at Scandinavia (sadly that also makes me see Germany) and think about its wonderfullness! I listen to the birds, the wind blowing and the alphorns singing their sweet songs in the distance while eating cheese and occasionally feeding the Capricorns with it. And then I remember how the Scandinavians are always fighting with each other. So I close my eyes and smile, feeling at peace.

How I would describe Norwegian is it is like English but mixed in a bowl with eggs with a few eggs missing but enough to get somewhat of a clue of what someone is saying yet more understandable than Swedish and Danish.

@@Luigi_Cadorna well I do happen to like the history of both Sweden and Norway. For example I like Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden who made Sweden a great power. That is what I think as an American. I did take into account that most Vikings were Norwegian so their version of Norse may have played a role in Norwegian being the easiest Scandinavian language for English speakers to learn.

Not entirely sure what happened with the translation at 0:20, as the translation says the exact opposite of what is being said. Jæklig is a synonym of jævlig, which can be directly translated to devilish, however is generally used as a negative connotation. In this context, what’s being said “Who do you think is the fucking worst of you and me?”, implying that Sweden is the worse one. Hope this helps, keep up the great content!

this is Norway's response song to Sweden's "Norgesvisan" in 1968 i believe. the Swedes didn't like that Norway did so much better than them during Winter OL of 1968, so they made a humoristic anti Norwegian song 🤓☝ this is a masterpiece, better that the Swedish one
