One of my favorite 'little films' (by American standards) -- 'ORION'S BELTE' (1985) is a picture that sticks with you ... ... and now hearing this orchestral version of the 'SVALBARD' (main theme) makes it all that much more majestic. BRAVO to the Arctic Philharmonic-! D.A.

I wish I knew the film, here in YT are 5 "klipps" which leave me at the end of a tragic encounter. Now I wish I could see how the story goes on. Is there more of this film available anywhere?

Fantastisk! Nydelig! Dette er en feiring av livet. Dette er hva livet handler om. Fascinerende hvordan dirigenten leder hele orkesteret i rett retning, avkorter tonene eller drar dem ut og... i det hele tatt. Mesterlig gjort.Hver eneste tone teller og dette var 100 % pitch perfect!

Hei! :-) Hvor filmet dere (ute på den isbreen)? Var det på Svalbard? Dette er livet, tenkte jeg, og det er stor musikalsk og visuell skjønnhet forenet. Har alltid sagt at naturens kunst er den største og beste, men dette konkurrerer med naturens kunst, eller det er i skjønn forening med naturens skjønnhet... fattige er mine ord, for dette er ubeskrivelige sanseinntrykk som leverer en stemning som er "beyond words". Denne sangen er virkelig utrolig bra, blant topp tre beste, i lag med Vårsøg og Reodors ballade. Jeg har delt videoen på min Facebook gruppe Nordiske Visesanger. Ta gjerne en titt innom. Wow, that's a lovely version of this iconic theme! Nicely orchestrated and played! Very flowing and majestic! I like the original, but this takes it to another level.

Great music !!!. Some of the parts reminds of the soundtrack to "Gettysburg" from 1993. Perhaps Randy Edelmann has borrowed some from Geir Bøhren og Bent Åserud. I don't know ......

I AM LIKELY NOT THE FIRST TO SUGGEST THIS ... but given the ease of DIGITAL EDITING these days ... can you folks do a SOUNDTRACK REPLACEMENT from the previously 'wailing electric guitars' and synthesizers of the original film to the ARCTIC PHILHARMONIC'S most excellent -- most emotionally uplifting SYMPHONIC SCORE ..? Obviously the rights are owned elsewhere and from what I understand -- 'ORION'S BELTE' is a truly beloved film in Norway, Europe and of course the Scandinavian Lands, especially SVALBARD ... Let me say outloud -- this film ... this story ... these characters -- their lives -- their deaths -- let alone the still vital political thriller it is 32 years later ... in short, deserves your wondrous rendition and dare I say, a CRITERION COLLECTION treatment. In many ways, for me ... and likely thousands of other fans of the film -- the ship ... the bruised & battered 'SANDY HOOK' -- -- to paraphrase an old children's story saying, she was-IS 'the little freighter that could' ... is truly one of the heroes for what she represents to life's adversities and getting through even the toughest of times. 'SANDY HOOK' may have been sunk in the battle -- but she is, like your version of the film's score .... UNFORGETTABLE. D.A.

They sure loved their wailing guitars and synths in the eighties ;-) but if the copyright owners of the film would want us to, I am sure we would seriously consider recording a new soundtrack for it!

Something tells me dear Arctic Phil (cool name, btw) ... that you folks have a closer access to the copyright holders of 'ORION'S BELTE' ... given your legal need for performance rights of the 'SVALBARD' and what not. Yes-? I've always wanted to see a remake of the film -- but, silly me -- with the same cast ... (I know -- I know -- it's three point two decades later) which, as we obviously know, is impossible given the time difference and basic logic. Who knows ... IF they ever do a 2017+ remake ... update ... sequel (etc.) ... my vote is for the ARCTIC PHILHARMONIC to lay down the score. SIDE NOTE: Back in the mid-90's, I had to grand fortune to watch the late, great Jerry Goldsmith recording some of the score for 'CONGO' at the Paramount Music Stage ... and I still have happy goosebumps to this day ... I get the same happy goosebumps having watched the 'SVALBARD' realized by the ARCTIC PHILHARMONIC on my big-screen TV these dozen plus times. You folks do & can make a difference -- a great one -- one that would open the film, 'ORION'S BELTE,' to previously unrealized, if not wondrous heights for generations to come. D.A.

Needs more cowbell. Honestly tho, an electrical guitar lead would be cool! Ennio says this is a totally natural part of a symphony orchestra.

We have had electrical guitar in the orchestra several times, it sounds great! 🎸 The original version of this (it’s from a film score) is mostly synthezisers and GUITARS 😂 no cowbell I think 😉 kzread.info/dash/bejne/mX-V0MGFlK_Nps4.html

Jeg må helt ærlig si at dette er bedre enn originalen. Er langt mere harmonisk med ett orkester.
