I own one of these in blue, it looks pretty spectacular (mine has a custom interior based on the original with blue suede and vinyl and louvres on the rear window and stuff) we added bigger wheels and some really good tires to it and it corners pretty well now, I wouldn't even say it's super slow with 50bhp, the thing only weighs 650 kilos, so it gets off the line pretty fast, it's really a blast to drive

A friend of mine used to have one, many years ago.. i remember how fun it was, although very old and with rusty holes on the floor (you could see the road underneath). I could barely fit in there, and generally it felt so insecure, but when we got it in random empty fields just to drift it, it was like being in a huge RC toy. Really fun

I live in New Zealand where 40 of these great little cars were imported to, and OWN a "Full Spec" CX-G which is NUMBER 27 off the production line. Unlike England, Australia, Iceland and The Netherlands, the 40 cars imported into New Zealand were the same as the JDM cars, and as such, retained the same frontal treatment. Instead of Square Headlights and the indicators mounted in the grill, the New Zealand cars had round headlights, the indicators wee mounted under the front bumper, and where the indicators were mounted in the Wizz Kid, there were a set of spot/driving lights. The car I own also differs in the interior trim, as, being a "Cross-Over" car, it has Tombstone style front seats, trimmed in a red and black hounds tooth design, and where you sit is made of cloth rather than Vynle? As these cars were prone to rust, and not designed to last any great length of time, and given the low production number on my car, it's Highly Possible that I own the earliest surviving example anywhere worldwide? The car is in completely original, un restored condition, with a Genuine 72,000 kilometers on it. I drive it most days, and it always puts a smile on my face. As to it's value, who knows?

Looks like a neat little car I've never heard of... Id LOVE to see one hopped up and done right. Even if its not a screamer (or even a real performer by any standard) its cool looking and unique (maybe? We certainly never got them in the USDM). What a cool little car.

I had one of these for 6 years rescued it from a scrap yard and only had to have 1,000 patches welded in to get it on the road. Only issue if you didn't push the gear stick down enough when selecting reverse it jammed the selector between gears so you had to get out unbolt the plate on to of gearbox and stir about with a big screwdriver to unjam it. Another odd thing when changing the canbelt I noticed the camshaft pulley had 2 marks on it. So thought lets see what the other mark does and it improved performance so why they had these 2 setting I don't know.

I live in New Zealand, and two weeks ago, I bought an Immaculate 63,000ks (39,000 Mile) example of one of these cars. It's slightly different in the front body trim, with Round Headlights, and Spotlights where the Indicators are in the front of this car, but mechanically it's identical. Contrary to what the road tester says here, it handles remarkably well, in that it can be chucked into a corner, where it hangs on like it's on rails. The most I have gotten mine to do is lift the inside rear wheel, but other than that. it's great fun, in an under powered light weight small car can be. To hear the prices they are fetching excites me, as I paid the equivilent of around two and a half thousand pounds for mine, and it's in amazing order for a 39 year old motor car. Putting a Hayabusa motor in it has crossed my mind, but it's to nice and to rare to butcher it in such a way.
