@@FreeMilesMC if you use this bike , get thread Lock, the bike is solid but there's small screws that vibrate out ,chain guard and fenders etc also upgrade the wheels , the wheels spokes vibrate loss over time , but the rest of the bike is like a tank

Great review for all around use of the VStrom. It's a very popular bike in America because of the durability, the capability, and the huge value for BMW to feel good at the top of the mountain.

Handsome offroader, glad to learn about another option from Japan.

I bought a new vstrom 650 in 2016 and i stil love its versatility. Very reliable,comfy,economicle and surpricingly good on twisty mountain roads. Power is enough for me in holland , massive amound of speedbumps and cameras .... perfect RTW bike also....

Really good looking bike :) I rode to Schwarzwald last summer and noticed the Germans seem to be more into Suzuki than we are in Sweden, I rarely see especially the v stroms here. Since I bought a drz 400s for offroad I suddenly become a Suzuki fan. It seems you get alot for your money than other brands. Really neat channel you got going, glad i found it ✌

Schöner Testbericht. Ich fahre ebenfalls eine V Strom 650 mit einem Fahrwerk von Hessler. Mittlerweile hat das Motorrad über 40 000 drauf. Eine sehr zuverlässige Reisegefährtin die mich schon durch viele Länder Europas und Marokko auf befestigten und vielen unbefestigten Straßen gebracht hat. Liebe Grüße

@@FreeMilesMC Gut hat sie sich geschlagen. Die ganze Reise war 14 000 Kilometer lang. Bis zu 48 Grad Celsius. Und es gab kein einziges technisches Problem. Hitze und Sand (auch Sandsturm) hat das Motorrad ohne Probleme weggesteckt. Der Motor hat auch nie unangenehm Hitze abgegeben, wie es vielen neu Motoren tut (auch die Suzuki V Strom 800) Ich bin auch ein paar Pisten gefahren und das ging auch gut. There's only one place where the BMW performs better: Starbucks...

I own one here in Australia. Stock bike, terrible suspension 😂, but love the bike.

I‘m riding an L8, so it has the 2017 facelift. While the old one looks a bit like Woody Woodpecker, mine looks like Woody mated with a cyclops minion ;-), so I would definitely not wrap mine in yellow… this one looks great though! The stock suspension definitely is on the cheap side, and a GS has lots of features that make long stretches on the highway more bearable, but I paid just over 7 grand for mine, including lots of useful aftermarket upgrades, which is hard to beat. The engine is lively and economical. I commute on it as long as there’s no ice on the roads, take it for a short spin on the weekend where it has to keep up with my wife’s Hornet, and I plan to take it on longer trips this summer. It’s the definition of a do-it-all bike.

I have a v strom you did really well in that mud , better suspension or not !

Even the first V-Strom was a completely underestimated bike - this applies to the 650 and the 1000 ccm version as well. Therefore I recommended the 650 to you just before you went for the Enfield ... 😅) And I already assumed the same for the successor - which you now confirmed impressively. 👍 Great bike! Very interesting by the way is the huge difference regarding to the emotions between the two engines. The 1000 ccm version is a totally different bike due to the enormous power. 💪💪😄😄

Habe vor ein paar Jahren mal eine SV650 gehabt und der Motor macht echt Spaß und klingt auch sehr gut. Finde die Gasannahme auch viel besser als bei meinen Ride By Wire Maschinen. Aber wird wohl bald nur noch ride by wire geben, leider.

Zumglück gibt es ja noch ein Haufen von diesen bikes auf dem gebraucht Markt ☺️

Ich habe mir die 650XT grad neu zugelegt und auch schon vorgestellt. WARUM V-Strom 650: ich sach nur eierlegende Wollmilchsau, langlebiger, erprobter und schon legendärer V2-Motor. Wie Du schon sagtest: mehr Straßenorientiert, also mehr Tourer als Off-Road-Queen, aber wer sie sich zulegt, weiss genau das. Kurvensammeln, nicht -jagen, aber Wald, Wiese und Schotter ist immer drin mit ihr. VG Appi
