I've owned more than a few motorcycles over my 40 years of riding them, but my 1050 XT is hands down the best of all of them. The only thing which could change that would be if it began to have long-term (> 75k mile) reliability issues, but odds of that are very, very low. Suzuki has wisely done an incremental evolution of the 1k vstrom. Except for potential clutch basket chudder, which is an easy fix, it's got zero issues. I've loved the 1k twin engine since my SV1000, would still have that bike but hated the ergos on it. The Vstrom 1050 is as close to that as you'll get, but in something you can comfortably do 800 miles/day on.

Can you comment about the clutch basket chudder, how often it happens on the 1050 (or if it still does on the latest version) and what the easy fix is you mention? Thx

@@Sladep123 The clutch basket design makes it prone to wear induced vibrations as you pile up the miles. I believe it happens to all 1000cc stroms, some worse than others. Many people simply ignore it, since it's more a nuisance than an actual mechanical failure. The permanent fix is to send the clutch basket to Werks for modification - kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZYx3qdywqbucds4.html

glad you mentioned the sv1000; i sold mine last year after 5 years of trying to make it work: higher bars, lower pegs, comfier seat, taller screen; it was painful letting it go but not as painful as my frequent 400 mile highway trips. You're right about the ergos. They're hopeless. And the Fuel range only 160mile/ tank; I only kept it so long because the engine is just brilliant ; thinking of picking up a Strom 1050 now; tho the gsxs1000gt looks mighty interesting

Great bike. Overall a nice package. :)

That bike is faster than she looks. And reliable as hell

Hahaha..., the sound of the engine is music, typical harsh hiss of the twin cylinder at low speed of high displacement, wonderful, thanks for the video👍🇧🇷

The sound of the exhaust is really good. Is that they stock exhaust?

You can see this bike eats the bumps and bad road well. It also rips when you get on the gas :) But maybe a little too beastly and large for very tight inner city traffic?

@@slipngrip I have a 1050 and ride in tight traffic situations from time to time. I'd recommend a test ride of course but this bike is surprisingly agile and feels really light even at very slow speeds

Καλημέρα. Σε σχέση με το 650 που οδήγησες ποια είναι η εντύπωσή σου? Καταλαβαίνω ότι μετά τα 150 ανεβάζει πιο γρήγορα το 1050. Σε συνθήκες πόλης έχει διαφορά με το 650 και σαν αίσθηση?

Μου άρεσε πιο πολύ από το 650 στους περισσότερους τομείς. Είναι τόσο άνετο και ευκολοδήγητο όσο το 650 ίσως και περισσότερο.

@@motoraw το φαντάστηκα ότι θα ήταν καλύτερο. Είχα οδηγήσει κι εγώ το 650xt. Μου άρεσε. Όμως αν είχα τα λεφτά θα πήγαινα στο 1050. Και τελικά δεν είναι μόνο το γκάζι αλλά και η αίσθηση που σου δίνει η μηχανή που όπως είπες είναι καλύτερη και πιο εύκολη από το 650. Και αυτός ο ήχος του 1050 είναι εκπληκτικός. Σε ευχαριστώ για την ανταπόκριση.

What is the top speed of this motorcycle ? I think it should do 220 - 225 km/hr.

I want to ask ! Is the seat comfortable for long ride?

Unfortunately I dont know but for a 40 minutes ride I had no problem.
