Had one exactly like this .Same year(72) , same colour . Found it was geared a bit too high. Power band started around 4000 rpm, but that was about 60 mph. Any hill, or head wind would reduce my speed and nesessitate a down shift. Replaced the drive sprocket ( front one) with one that was one tooth less. Solved the problem.
