SUZUKI SWACE Review | Updated for 2023 | FEATURES

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is the updated Suzuki Swace for 2023, it comes with a load of driver assist and safety features. Underneath it is basically a Toyota Corolla Touring Sports with a little less power and a more wallet-friendly price.
The Swace comes with a 1.8 L petrol engine and an electric motor which combined produce 140hp, which is an upgrade from the previous model Swace. 0-62 mph has also been improved to 9.4 seconds from 11.1.
Join me as I take the Swace to the North York Moors during a typical British storm, as I show you the features of the car that I particularly enjoy, and give my opinion of the car as a whole.

Hey that's awesome! If you want reliability then the Corolla and the Swace are definitely safe options, but the Swace is more affordable with loads of great standard features. Good choice!

Swace is basically the same car, but got my Corolla Touring couple days ago, swapping for a Megane DCI Estate (2014). Feels a little bit more cramped (Megane isn't the roomiest to start with), boot slightly smaller (about same size when you drop the Corolla's floor panel), I think rear space is slightly better for the legs, not as good for the headroom. Comfy overall, enough room for my 6'4'' (driver seat at the lowest). Interior is pretty dark, especially with the tinted windows. If you want a fun lively interior, this is not it. Couple of niggles, coasting at low speed, I keep left-foot braking thinking it's the clutch (old manual gearbox habits). Couldn't activate Android Auto Wireless, could be my crappy phone (Moto G82), Only one USB port (for android auto). Otherwise, yeah, it's a compact Estate car, and doesnt feeel to dissimilar to the Megane overall, besides all the high tech stuff. Cabin layout is sensible, comfy, ride a hair harsher but really not bad (could be 17'' tires versus 16'', or my old tired Megane). Don't like the Lane Assist stuff. Even when deactivated, it still triggers sometimes. Otherwise, easy going car, rewards relaxed driving, Great style and interesting color (Bronze Imperial), goes from bronze to dark grey depending on ambient light. Interior is not the best overall. Dark, lacks USB ports and fun features, not the roomiest. You get a Swace / Corolla Touring for it's overall practicality, economy, and reliability. It's adequate. And that's all I wanted, really.

I agree, it doesn't excel is some aspects bit does the job and does it well. I did shoot a piece about the rear cabin but ended up leaving it out of the video. Plenty of legroom in the back and okay headroom (could be slightly better). The driver aids do trigger but not so often that it becomes irritating, at least it's good to know they're there! Overall it is a great car and I like the fact that the Swace is cheaper than the Toyota (but the trade off is power)... Ultimately the Toyota has a better warranty so will probably hold it's value better too. Either car is a good choice for a daily.

@@Naveed4SpeedI've seen a few modern compact cars, and the interior always feel more cramped compared to the older generations, whatever the car. Airbags, fuel economy (aerodynamics, smaller, lower to the ground), and crumple zones everywhere I suppose. The Civic E:Hev is better for the interior, but more expensive. Taxis know. Toyota Corolla Touring / Rav4 are all they buy these days (hence the 8 months wait). It was either of these, or a Jogger Hybrid, but since I wanted reliability... Can't trust Renault anymore (although Engine in the Jogger is an old 1.6L Nissan / Renault platform with port injection and timing chain, so all good). Toyotas tops the charts every year, and the engine platform is essentially an updated 20 years old Prius, super reliable. The hope is it will last me 10 years and more without a major issue. Anyway, thanks for the review :)

I appreciate your support. Are you planning on servicing with Toyota main dealers?

@@Naveed4Speed Yes. Three years (three services), then you get 10 years warrantee. And prices aren't that bad, plus courtesy car. They did say that the engine didn't need any break in period. I'm doubtful. I'll do an oil change between 500-1000 miles anyway. Worth 100€ imo.

Enthusiastic and intetesting review. You know your stuff. But the filming location looks like a dogging site.

Thank you. It was one of the first locations that I found before the North York Moors, and I think it might be a dogging site 😂
